I didn't see standing on the charts but this website lists different activities and the calories burned (some by weight)...it will give you an idea of how much you need to do to burn off calories.

How long are you standing for? The human body does burn calories just doing the things it does everyday (ie, breathing, digesting food, pumping blood through the body, etc) but it doesn't burn very many calories. If you were standing for a long period of time, without moving/fidgiting, it might be possible. But it would have to be for several hours at least.

Theres no way. It takes like 5 minutes on the teadmill to lose 40 calories. Sorry, sitting and standing wont get you very far.

I've never heard of that before. In order for me to burn 50 calories I must walk at least 10 mins on my treadmill...
