Check your area for a society that places that breed and can find it a good home. Post signs in your neighborhood at church, Wal Mart bulletin boards that you are looking for a good home for your dog. You might try placing an ad in a local paper for it too. I found one of my dogs in a newspaper. A beautiful bassett hound that was free. They were just looking for a good home for her. That way you can see the people and how the dog reacts to them.

Well if you must I would put a add in the newspaper that way they will be calling you for the dog so you can meet them and go to thier house and find a perfect place for him yourself. Then you will always know he's safe and they have all his info and periodically (if they allow it) you could still go see your friend. But if there is anyway you can work out keeping him you might want to think about that. I had to give up my dog of 8 yrs because I live in town and he wasn't happy he was a husky and needed land. I get to see him sometimes and I keep in touch with the new owners he has a great house and great life but there is a hole in your heart you never knew exsisted till your best friend has to leave you.

First of all, I am sorry you aren't able to care for him any longer. The rest of these people on here don't know what your situation is and why you can't take care of him any longer so they need to stop judging you. You can't predict everything that is going to happen in your life. We are in a situation where we are looking for a good home for our golden retriever also. I understand that not everything in life works out as we plan but that's life and I am sure that you feel terrible having to get rid of him but people don't need to make you feel worse than you already do!! A lot of cities have no kill shelters or maybe check with the local shelter or vet clinic to see if they know of anyone that does foster care. Good luck!!

First I ought to tell you i'm sorry to take heed to of your loss..... previously I even have been given to the area the place you pointed out the criminal I knew who it replaced into. You gave the descriptions of each canines. The Scottie jointly as territorial and having an exceedingly finished set of teeth and a powerful force (they hunted den animals) could have had his palms finished killing the sheltie by fact the sheltie is speedy and nimble. The dachshund does not even in high quality condition into the photograph because it relatively is merely too small to strike a deadly blow to the sheltie. jointly as the Lab on the different hand may well be very territorial, and have the dimensions to do the deed. the single ingredient I even have experienced with canines is that whilst they have made a kill, it relatively is merely a be counted of time previously they do it lower back. you will hear some "helpful hearth" the thank you to "restoration" him from doing it lower back.. and that i've got in no way seen them paintings. What has for sure occurred is that your lab has volleyed for suitable canines place and gained. She did it with the sheltie by fact the sheltie replaced into an interloper. i could be keen to guess that the different 2 partook in that incident. whilst she attacked your dachshund it could have all started as a danger unfastened reprimand from the older dame that your lab merely took into her recommendations that she replaced into unlikely to take orders anymore and vied for the throne. What your lab did is nature. it is what happens in all p.c.. and herd animals. it relatively is termed a pecking order. She merely did what comes organic. i does no longer hate her for this yet with this new gained awareness i does no longer have faith her around any new pets it relatively is beneficial to get carry of. in case you pick to offer her up, comprehend that older canines are harder to place (everybody needs an exquisite domestic dog). and there is an probability that she ought to wind up hurting yet another canines or perhaps worse a human in the event that they are no longer given her finished history. this could be a annoying determination on your area. one that i does no longer desire on my worst enemy. Like I stated however. She replaced into merely being a canines. they don't have the cognitive skill to reason as we do so in her recommendations she did no longer something incorrect. stable success and that i actually desire all of it works out for you the two

Search for a ASCPA around your area. All are no kill shelters, except for the feral animals that cannot be trained. If you got your dog from a shelter, they require that you bring him back if you can not care for him.
You can also go to the website below:

You could go many routes including giving it away, or putting it up for adoption there are pet classified sites where many people are constantly placing their pets for adoption, if you choose this route make sure that it's going to a good home.
