1. take the water up and offer water before meals and periodically throughout the day...but immediatly after the dog drinks- take it outside.

2. Use a crate- put a blanket in there. If your dog does not go outdoors, put them in the crate and try again later on.

3. Use a command. We use "Get busy" and he goes as soon as he hears that command.

4. Get a clicker...use the clicker each time the dog does something you like...and click. Then, treat the dog.

5. Take outside every hour.

6. Put dog in crate before bed and take out just before bed. Also, you are going to want to water the dog 2 hours before bed.

I used this with all of our dogs and my newest dog- a Beagle was fully house trained by 10 weeks old.

You may want to read up on clicker training...it's easy and the dog learns quickly.

1) make sure the puppy is on a food and water schedule
2) take puppy outside each time it eats or drinks
3) stay outside with puppy in area you want it to use a poppy area until puppy goes. Praise puppy, clean up, and then take puppy for short walk, or take puppy inside
4) when puppy gets sleepy have it go in crate for nap.
5) when puppy wakes up take it out side repeat 3)

House training of young puppy is as much training of owner to be attentive to clues puppy gives that it is needs to go, and for owners to get puppy outside with puppy so that puppy can be praised for correct behavior.

Your friends Lab puppy will not have the bladder control to hold it all day for about 6 more months - so it becomes important that the puppy is gotten outside regularly or it can learn bad behaviors

well, they sell stuff at walmart for that. it's basicly a sheet of blue plastic with a particular smell geared towards dogs. if you don't want to do that just keep taking it outside and reward it by a positve voice or a treat when it goes outside. if it goes inside (and there will be a bunch of accidents) just yell stuff like no and bad dog in a negative voice (also a quick swat on the butt helps). the dog will eventually get the picture. or if you have another older dog who is already potty-trained, take the old one out with the small one. the younger dog will eventually copy the older one.

A good way is to hang a bell (like a Christmas bell) from the door and when she does her business in the house take it and the puppy both and ring the bell then take it outside and put it where you want her to do it. Let her sniff around with it outside for a bit and then do it again. Don't forget to ring the bell because she will see that she can go outside if she rings the bell, it is very helpful. And be constant with it

crate training is very affective. ask her to go to petsmart and buy a book on it. also rubbing a dogs nose in his potty is cruel and ineffective would you do this to your child? no. do not let your dog see you clean up his potty tho b/c this will give him the idea that if he does it your just going to be ok with cleaning it every time. 15 mins after he eats he should go out when you wake up and b4 you go to bed. always take him to the same spot. when he goes reward him. getting some puppy pads would be a good idea also because all dogs have accidents every so often.

I have too labs they were very easy to train a lot of work. You have to watch them all the time when you see them starting to walk in a circle you know they have to go so get them really fast and take them out side when they do go tell them good boy/girl make a big deal of it. Every time they wake up from a nap take them out side right before bed time and first thing in the morning.

She will need to be very consistent with the puppy, take it out every 30 minutes tell it to go "potty" and reward it with a treat every time it goes out side so that it knows its doing something right. She will have to be very positive with the saying good job or boy/girl. keeping the puppy going on a good beat. IF the puppy should slip up and go in side which it will, she'll have to give it just a light "smack" on the but, not HARD, not to make it yelp, just a little tap and then say bad boy/girl and IMMEDIATLY take it out side and tell the puppy to go potty. TELL her its going to take time and she'll have to be patient but consistency is the key!

crate prepare him...take him exterior each hour or so, enable him circulate, compliment him especially for doing it in the suited spot, then enable him play for merely slightly, then positioned him lower back in his crate. canines are for sure neat and could no longer soil their very very own den in the event that they might help it. you will ought to stand up in the nighttime too...it relatively is merely like having a toddler. additionally, make helpful the crate isn't too vast, then he will merely circulate in one end and sleep in the different. do no longer rub his nostril in any injuries, or hit him, or do something to scare him...this could make him think of it relatively is undesirable to circulate the bathing room in front of you, and he will come across a secret spot, which you do no longer choose. a pair weeks of certainly one of those educating and you should be ok. stable success, I also have a sparkling domestic dog too..it relatively is annoying paintings!
