and every one of them had their particular ethnic or cultural group as the group that was created, doesn't that tell you something?

In the Greek stories, the Gods created the Greek people, not the Jewish people. In the Egyptian stories, the God(s) created the Egyptian people, not the Scandinavian people.

I'm not Jewish, so it would be silly for me to accept their version at face value, especially since my own ancestors had a story that had our group as the center of Creation.

And I also understand that these things are just cultural manifestations and not literal truth.

No one ever wrote a creation story where they claimed that 'Those people over there are the ones the God(s) created and well, we just suck!"

So what possible reason would I have for taking the Hebrew books literally, and making myself into a descendant of Hebrew tribes, when I know that I'm not, and a simple DNA test can prove it.

I couldn't agree more with you. Nothing can be proven in any of these cases. each culture has its own creation story. Evolution is excepted by most scientist in all cultures.

Jehovah is the Jewish Zeus, and Zeus is the Greek Jehovah.

You are wrong about a lot of things you wrote in this question.
Christians believe that the world was created by the God of the Jews and Muslims. The God of these people groups is believed to be the God of all people not just jews and muslims. It is believed that God created man and woman which procreated. Hundreds of years later Abram (later Abraham) decendent of the man and woman (Adam and Eve)
had two sons. First Ishmael from whom the Arabs came (later known as the Muslims) then Isaac from whom the Hebrews came (later known as the Jews). Many of the people groups in the Tonahk the Jewish Bible = Christian Old Testament are the same as the modern ones we know now. They just have changed names because they have slightly evolved.
There are religions in the past that have done what you said but most of them are not practiced now. The greek religion for e.g. is not practiced anymore becasue it is now thought of as nothing more than myth i.e. Greek Mythology.
With time there will be test that bring down religions and that will cause new religions and phylosophies to be made up.
Because man is always looking for ways to make sense out of life and feel accepted.
DNA proves that you are in some way realated to all other humans but it doesn't prove you are not Hebrew or not English or that you are. DNA can change from generation to generation and eventually it can be lost and replaced with time. DNA can even change or mutate in your life time but thats another story.
The Bible says," that in the last days man will have itchy ears and will be open and listen to anything that makes them feel good, whether it's right or wrong". This is very dangerous be sure to research in depth what you believe and test it. If you believe something you should find the source of what you believe so you know what you believe and test it. It must stand trial. If you don't believe something you must disprove it, it must stand trial too.

Exactly. There are over 2,000 deities to worship, but none of them have evidence to back up their belief systems, especially in creation stories.

Now if somebody had invented a creation story a long time ago where people evolved from other life forms and lived in a universe that was billions of years old, then I might have to give it a second look.

But none of them have, because no religion is based on reality. I for one have a mixed racial and cultural heritage, so I'd be adhering to about five religions if I accepted the conflicting versions.

The Jewish faith doesnt teach that they were the 1st ones created by God. The Jewish people didnt become a nation until they lived in Egypt where they multiplied greatly and at the right time, Gods time, Moses led them out. So your wrong in your question.

You may learn, from the errors that blinded the authors of the four gospels. Each had their own expectations of the Messiah, and each expectation failed to reveal what was to happen before their eyes.

All lore points to him, but vaguely.

I love to read myths, and even astrology, just to find the Ressurection in them.
