I got this puppy in march from the humane society. He's a five month old 50 pound mixed breed but i'd like to figure out exactly what he is. Most people guess great pyrenees but he doesnt have a tail or the duclaw that great pyrenees have. I've also noticed now that he's getting older that the hair on his head is starting to get really kinky/curly. I'm including a link of a picture of him so please please look and tell me what you think.

No matter what breed he is really cute. But, my best bet would be a mix between a Pyrenees and a yellow lab. Maybe you could call the place where you got him and ask if they have his breed on file, or you could ask a vet, pets mart dog groomer or trainer, seller, a professional breeder, etc. Good luck finding out.

He is SOOO CUTE!!!! He kinda looks like my Lab when he was a puppy but larger and almost for sure a Great Pyreneese. Keep inmind most all dogs are born with a tail and the breed that do not have it is because humans dock them. It could be that or a birht defect. But my uncles have Great Pyreneese and that is what they look like. Yours may have Lab or Golden Retriever.

Your little companion looks like he may have alot of Labrador retriever in him and great Pyrenees isn't a bad guess as well. Nana

I was not going to answer this until I saw the second picture. I spit out laughing. First, I must write the second picture makes him look like he has LION in him. That is what got me tickled. It must be lab, but he really doesn't look like he has mix in him. He is a BEAUTIFUL PUP. He is going to be the trickster, his pose tells on him. He poses as if to say, "THAT'S RIGHT TAKE PICTURES OF ME. I AM SOOO INNOCENT!!!" I guess you named him HANDSOME.

I would go with Pyr and maybe Golden Retriever. He's a beautiful puppy.

Thank-you for adopting a dog and saving a life!

he's a dog or questionable ansestry. In the end does his breed matter? only thing that should matter is his love for you and your love for him.
