Ummm....I'm gonna go on the premise that you're actually having doubts, and not another person just trying to stir things up.
So here goes -
Evolution - I believe in Intelligent Design. God's time isn't our time, and I don't believe when the Bible says the earth was created in 7 days that is literally 7 of our earth days. All you have to do is look around and you see an artists hand in every living thing.
Rich using religion to supress the poor -
1. There have been TONS of rich people who were religious, TONS of rich people who gave up their wealth for their religion (from Sidartha , to St. Francis of Assisi ). I don't think this argument has merit. Plus if you're going from a totally Christian view of things, Jesus was THE original rebel against the system. He wasn't rich. He went to the temples and knocked over the tables of the people trying to use religion to get rich. He advocated rich people should help poor people, and we should all be brothers and sisters. Leave everything behind and come follow me - or something like that.
2. Hollywood stars aren't role models. We live in an imperfect world, where everyone has free will, or agency. A religion can't MAKE you live the "right" way. There are tons of people out there who SAY they live one way, and REALLY live another. I would never say there aren't hypocrites in churches, because there are. BUT just because some people don't "live their faith" doesn't mean the faith is bogus.
3. What Michael Douglas said in a movie is not necessarily true. This is self explanatory.
Bottom line - Religions are run by people. People are not infallible (except if you're a Catholic, then the Pope is infallible ), and life and the world isn't perfect. But we, as religious people, have a responsibility to work to make things better. Just because you look around and there's still alot of work to be done, doesn't mean God doesn't exist.
I think your main problem is that you think that IF God exists, then things should be perfect. But this premise is wrong, and it's causing your confusion. The only way God could make things perfect is if He took away our free will. We'd be puppets, or slaves, or worse. He doesn't want slaves or puppets, He created us to be His children. Just like regular children, a parent can't make all the decisions for the child. Sometimes the child is going to get hurt, and make bad decisions, and the parent has to sit back and let it happen so the child can learn and grow.
Wow this was long. Sorry about that. That's just my two cents.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok so after reading your comment, I am wondering if this is a question after all, or just another way to preach atheism? Because it sounds like it's preaching.

Certainly the rich are very poor believers or not believers at all. it's also true that the very religious are the very poorest, but I don't believe that religion started for that reason.
I believe that religion was an invention of the very earliest of stone-age people. We, all of us including the rest of the animals and plants are programed to fear death. The will to live is in every living thing. Otherwise what would be the point of avoiding death ? Life would end for all things.
This fear of death brought about the invention of the "soul". They figured that perhaps some tiny unseen part of us could actually live on in a beautiful place where there was no shortage of food. Where they didn't have to fight the elements.
What a wonderful dream. The dream was passed around, repeated thousands of times, added on, spiced up into this heaven that people have strived for for millions of years.
All of this was accomplished by the thousands of "gods" that have come and gone. Beliefs change. Beliefs get modified. There were many additions and subtractions, until we got what we have today.
Dreams are great, but reality wins out in the end.

Dear Stephani,
I would not worry about the existence of God. You see God does not need to prove Himself. He is Sovereign. He knows everything, including what each and every human being is thinking. How can man explain a Being that has existed forever but never gets tired or old? We cannot.
The Bible is where you must search if you have questions. From everything that I have learned from God in His word, we are on the threshold of eternity ie., the end of the world. Sin and wickedness is multiplying. False teachers (even here on Y/A Religion are increasing. People are mocking the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The flood of Noah's day occurred in 4990 BC (Genesis 7). In 2 Peter 3 God speaks of the flood and then transitions to the end of the world being destroyed in flaming fire. Verse 8 is very interesting: "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." Why does God make this statement? Remember, 7 days before the flood God told Noah to get his family and all the animals into the ark. If we multiply 1000 X 7 we get 7000 years. Now add 7000 to 4990 BC. You arrive at 2011 AD (you must count year 0 as a year as you go from BC to AD). It appears that 2011 AD will be the year that Christ returns (please note that this is not the day nor the hour-it is the year). People on Y/A have said that Jesus will return as a thief in the night but they have not read 1 Thessalonians 5:4.
Also remember that God told Noah before He detroyed the world with a flood. God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. God told Jeremiah before He destroyed Jerusalem and Judah.
I hope this will help you.

"O` YE OF LITTLE FAITH" !!! You being here is proof enough that GOD exist !! You should set your sights` on the things not of this world , not adapt to the way the world is ! A real Christian would never set the value of wealth in monetary terms ! Your wealth and your treasure is in heaven , not here on earth ! By the way , do you go to the movies , do you contribute to this "rich lifestyle" of the movie stars by paying a ridiculous price of $20.00 for a movie ticket and not complaining about the cost , and then go to Church and drop in a dollar and whine about it ?? Since you claim you are a Christian , and are leaning toward believing what man and his science says` about evolution ; I need your answers` to these questions ?? First ; THERE IS NO PROOF OF EVOLUTION !!! In all of recorded human history man & his science has verified and proven that " You cannot create matter from non matter ", basically , man and his science can`t make something out of nothing !! Knowledge and order cannot be created from confusion and disorder ? Knowledge, according to man and his science cannot have an origination from nothing , as knowledge can only be increased and added upon by having a beginning knowledge to start from , meaning knowledge already existed from a beginning source !! Man and his science to this day have no idea how a molecule of DNA is created , and that being the basis for all of life on earth as we know it , where did DNA originate from ?? Man and his science also knows that the only thing that can produce a protein molecule , is another protein molecule , so since you cannot create something from nothing , please explain the existence of a protein or DNA molecule ? Now back to the "rich" . Biblically it is OK to be rich !! It is the "LOVE" of money that is the root of all evil , not money by itself. Being "rich" is your earthly reward for good , honest hard work for the living ! For having Faith in Gods` Word , then Heaven and everlasting life is your reward !!! GOD and His Word have never changed , it man and his feeble attempt to alter GODs` Word so that it makes sinning look OK !! What are you doing to Honor and Praise GOD and His Word ?? You eyes are on the things of the world and not on the things of GOD ! SHOW US THE "PROOF " OF evoultion ???? Maybe you have forgotten ? Here is a reminder in Genesis 1: 1.. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth .... John 1 : 1 - 4 .. In the beginning was the Word , and the Word was with God , and the Word was God.. The same was in the beginning with God .. All things were made by Him ; and without Him was not any thing made that was made .. In Him was life ; and the life was the light of men ... * Praying for you *

If the Christian God does not exist after all ...
... then how did the prophets plainly foretell of Christ's coming, complete with details of His birthplace, where He grew up, how He would die, even to pre-quote the words people will say around the crucifixion?
... how did the Bible accurately foretell the date Christ will appear on earth, even naming a historically verifyable character (Cyrus) who was not born yet?
... why did the first century Jews who were against the Christians not deny Christ's miracles? (They accused Him of being in league with the Devil.) Why did they not deny that His body was gone? Why did they have to make up a story about His missing resurrection body?
... why does the fossil record show no transitional series linking fish to amphibian?
... why aren't the museums showing skeletons depicted in the famous picture showing the stages of a monkey to a man? Because only about two of those complete skeletons exist. All the others either never existed at all or were composed of two bones!
... why is it that scientists can't find fossil records linking one plant to another "evolved" plant either?
... why did Bill and Melinda Gates, two of the richest people on earth, set up a trust to use their billions to help people all over the world? Why has one of the other richest men in the world given his money into their trust to help mankind?
... if the world is millions of years old, and the Grand Canyon was carved by the river at the bottom, why aren't there thousands of Grand Canyons all over the world?
... how did the female and mail sexual organs, perfectly suitable for the other, appear in virtually every species and kinds of every animal and insect? How is it possible that they can evolved in lockstep over so many years? they were designed from the get-go by God!

Do you want to live your life as if there is not a God..... and then die and find out there is a God?....how sad that would be......we are only passing though this world we do not belong here our home is in Heaven with the Lord, he is preparing a mansion for us, that believe in him, and have accepted him as our savior and lord. Keep the faith, people tend to forget that evolution was and is just a theory, one mans ideal, and although scientist are smart they are not always right.

turn on your television again and this time you might notice that these so-called rich celebrities are not as happy as they appear. Its one thing to have riches, its another to have peace. Take Eddie murphy. He makes millions and has shown up in lots of movies. This man has several children by several different wives. He recently had a child by his current wife, meanwhile the girl from spice girls claims he is the baby of her child. If you really look at these celebrities they come off as whores (no offensive to anyone). They have all that money and can't find or buy true love. Take anna nicole smith, she made all that money and watched her first son died, she died shortly after at a young age.

If God doens't exsist, it doesn't matter at all. You can do what you want and feel good doing it because when you die, that's it. Your life ends and you're gone. Oh, and don't worry about that little voice inside your head that tells you what is right and wrong . . it's just your conscience, and it is not real either . . .
One more thing: have you ever seen a wealthy person who said "I have everything, now. I don't want anything else" and then stopped buying things?

Speaking as an Atheist, the fact that there are wealth inequities is a very bad argument against the existence of god.

I love this quote. It seems an appropriate response:
The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity. [Carl Sagan]
