Yes. Catholics are sinners just like anyone else. and are subject to the same temptations. Every sin a Catholic commits is in violation of the teaching of the Church. However, that's why the Church is here. It is a hospital for sinners, not a club for saints. Which is why the Church provides the means for both forgiveness and healing after commission of such a self-destructive sin.

Yes, they keep going like nothing ever happen! But I guess that it is up to each person's own moral standards. I don't think the church will throw rocks at people out in front of your house, times have change. It is mostly up to you and your quilt. No one can stop you from going to church, but yourself!

Yes, She became very depressed and felt like God would not ever forgive her, She did stop going to church and fell into very bad ways. I continue to pray for her.

True hearted Catholics would never do such a thing. We are human & make bad choices. God is forgiving of our sins. if someone had done it, they would keep it to themselves & continue attending services for forgiveness. God knew us & our faults before he put us in our mothers' wombs. If you forgive yourself, God will forgive you & probably already has.
