I honor of our lost brother Santana D, let's dedicate the big fight tonight to his memory. Santana and i had discussed tonight's Mayweather-De La Hoya fight on numerous occasions and he was so looking forward to tonight. So, to honor this wonderful man's memory, let's all declare May 5th, 2007 Santana D day on this forum and dedicate tonight's fight to his memory. R.I.P my brother.

The blogbaba supports anything that honors Santana so count me in. I think the entire Yahoo answers boxing forum should somehow be dedicated to him. All of the major contributors grew to love Santana and his spirit ties all of us together through this site. Every time I answer a question on Yahoo boxing I think of him and I greive. He was an incredible man and a true genius in boxing circles. I hope I can live up to the example he provided, he was the best and brightest of our small circle.

R.I.P. my brother, we miss you.

Dude, i'm with you all the way! If anyone on here deserves something like that, it's Santana. And i have to say this, i was a little disturbed by Ric's response to such a noble gesture. Dude, i don't see anything wrong with honoring someone in the way you're honoring Santana. It's not a question of whether or not we need to move on, because we know that in due time, we do, and i don't think anyone on this forum is ready to stop living life, but maybe just never let people forget about Santana. There are probably some new people on here who don't know who he was, and all Pancho is doing is making sure that his memory remains on this forum, and i think to say anything negative about that is a bit disrespectful not only to Pancho. but to the others on this forum who Santana really touched. Kudos to you Pancho, and yes, this is Santana day in my eyes! Ric my friend, i think you should have some second thoughts about some of the things you said in your asnwer.

thanks a lot sir for saying this. Santana D. grow to be a superb guy and quite knew his boxing! He gave the most smart and thorough solutions and also you're proper as he genuinely deserved to be on the right. I emailed him quite a few cases in my opinion to praise him and he grow to be continuously fantastic and respectful to me too and that i beloved his huge understanding of boxing. yet no longer in basic terms that, I also seen him a pal on the following and a superb guy too.

I have been thinking of him everyday since Friday April 20. He will be in my heart today especially. I don't want to sound cold, and I do not mean it in a cold way. But Santana was a beautifuuly smart and compassionate man. He did not get that way by looking back, but by living life to the fullest. Even as he layed dying he never complained about it, he just kept on moving forward. We all love him here, we all miss him here, and I pray for his family too because they must really be hurting today. But Santana would not want us to stop living life or feel bad. We need to move on too. It took me a real long time until I could even look at this site again. But he doesn't want us to feel pain over this, he is in a better place and we should be happy... but that is easier said than done. I am a Mayweather guy, but reguardless of who wins tonight, put on a little smile and think of him. As far as a Santana D Day, Native Americans honor the dead eveyday. To have one day leaves out the other 364 days. We must honor all who came before us everyday in my opinion. Not with some ritual or anything, but if they are in your heart, a little piece of them lives on :) Rest Santana D

Ric that was great. As well as what Ric said the guys fighting in Iraq get them prayers to be home safe. A special dedication to Santana on the day today. Go DeLaHoya. A special day each day to Santana on the boxing forum. His knowledge of the art of boxing is clearly missed and a prayer to his family as they remember him always.
