Explain to him that you respect his style of being laid back and all, but this is one day of his life and yours that is going to be special and could he take this one day to complete the magical moment of becoming husband and wife. Ask if he could wear his dress shoes for the vows and then change into his Jordans. He should understand this.....

Tell your fiance that Jordans are not appropriate for a wedding and for him to stop being so difficult. Also, have another guy who will be in the wedding party, or his best man or his father straighten him out. Wearing Jordans will be a catastrophe for your wedding and spoil the mood. He has to shape up and stop being difficult.

Wedding attire in all other ways, but Jordans on his feet? Or Jordans plus equally casual dress otherwise? Everyone says your wedding day is your day, the one day of your life when you get to have things exactly the way you want them, so this is his wish.
He is going to do as he likes, you may as well not fight it. It is not the first time you have had to give in, is it? And it sure isn't going to be the last.

Compromise with him... Ask him to wear dress shoes for pictures and ceremony and the reception let him wear the Jordans. It will be something cute he will always remember, that you let him actually wear the Jordans on your big day.

If I am understanding Jordans are tennis shoes right? So why dont you make sure the photos don't show his feet I know tons of brides who wear flip flops why cant he be comfortable too. Just make sure you dont see his feet. Or here's an idea buy him a new pair and have all his attendants wear them too. Make it a fashion statement. It'll be unique and special for him that way

Normally I'd say let him have his way, but in this case I beg to differ. It is your wedding for crying out loud. Unless you're getting married in a courthouse by a Justice of the Peace, I say he needs to make this one time exception and dress for the occasion.
Try talking him into understanding how important this is to you and the whole ceremony. Would you like it if some of your invited guests to showed up dressed in Jordans too? Naaa, that is too tacky...even for the groom. Please!

A wedding is an 'event' and there are certain things you do (and wear) for special events. Try talking to him about the event as a special occasion that you dress in a special way. For example, when you graduate from school, you wear a cap and gown---not something ANYONE would normally wear. But it's what you do for that special event.
Wearing a suit (or tux) is what you do for this special event. It's ONE DAY; he doesn't have to change WHO he is or what his style really is. It's one way of saying, "I'm ready for this responsibility (being married) and I'll do what I need to to make it work."
If he's not ready to change his clothes for one day for a wedding, you need to be talking about alot of other things. What else would he not be willing to do that is expected of people who get married?

You love and he loves so i think that if you say he could wear the jordans he would look at the bigger picture and wear a tux because he loves and he wants to make you happy. good luck hope this works out for you.

Make a deal with him...if he wears dress shoes for the ceremony and pictures, he can wear his Jordans for the reception- then he can be comfortable and relaxed, yet your pictures will be perfect.

Go with him when he gets fitted for his tux. And show him how ridiculous and tacky he looks wearing a very formal outfit and he's wearing Jordans. Tell him even P.Diddy gets dressed up with leather shoes on.
