I'm 170 lbs at 5'8 and have been trying to lose weight since December. I was 180 lbs to start with, and have only lost those 10 lbs in 5 months. I used to jog about half an hour a day, but my ankles started hurting, now I'm on the stationary bike for about half an hour to 45 minutes. Every morning and night I do 100 curl ups and 25 push ups. Every other day or every three days I lift weights. I can feel my stomach tightening. Now I just need to lose that extra fat in front of the muscle. I've also been eating about 4-5 small meals a day and drinking plenty of water. Any suggestions. I'm not into doing anything drastic.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

What you're doing sounds good, exercising a lot and eating well. Weight loss, the healthy way, tends to be slow, you shouldn't be losing more than 1-2 lbs a week. I would say change up your routine every once in a while, because after you do the same thing over and over again, it becomes ineffective. Go for a walk, if it doesn't make your ankles hurt. Dancing, swimming, water aerobics...all options for you to try something new.Make sure whatever you eat is healthy, too, mostly veggies, grains, and fruits.

Maybe you need to change your diet. Be sure to try to get rid of white bread and unnecessary carbs like sugar and starch. Eat a lot of salads, fresh fruits and raw vegetables. Avoid eating anything with preservatives because your body does not know what to do with those chemicals causing you to store them as fat. You can try Spelt bread which does not have as much natural sugar as regular bread. You can find that in the health section of any grocery store. Try to also eat a lot of fish instead of beef and pork.
