Spicy foods are frequently made with a base of red pepper. He may just think it is blood because of the color.

If his bowel movements contain blood from anything he eats me would advice him to go to a doctor a.s.a.p. If he lives in Ontario or anywhere that their is a shortage of doctors me advice would be to go to a walk-in clinic and see a doctor there. If he doesn't have a family doctor a walk-in clinic will see him. Me is talking a quess that yer friend is under the age of 18?? If me is wrong me is sorry. If he lives at home with his parents he should talk to them. If he doesn't he was smart to talk to you and get an answer. I's not a doctor or nurse , just a parent, and me children often went to friends first. You would be wise to somehow get him to either speak with his parents or get him to a doctor quickly. It could be nothing. BUT it could also be something is wrong with him and he may need medical treatment. A doctor is the only one who can determine that.

Well, first he needs to see a doctor. It could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome or maybe an Ulcer or who knows what else. But, he should really talk to a doctor because bloody poo is NEVER a good thing!

***he may have hemorrhoids (inflamation and swelling in the veins around the anus) the blood in his poo usually is trigerred by spicy food.

***if the blood is bright red it came from the opening of the anus (nothing to worry this can be just bruises around the anus because of hard poo), if blood is dark it may come from the inner part maybe intestines advise your friend to see a doctor.

***avoid spicy foods and eat fiber rich foods and drink lots of water.

he could have a condition known as ulcerative colitis - which is a condition that causes blood in stool, and increased with spicy food. He can also have chron's disease, or any other number of gastrointesinal diseases.

Clinical correlation is required. See a doctor (your friend, that is).

seek a doctors opinion, whenever anyone is pooing out blood looking stools, it is not normal. your friend may need a scope done, just to make sure everything is ok.
