I have alternative theory and question of evolution,
my theory is that the world evolved to the state that we are in billions of years ago, and the ppl of that time as the same as in this time caused their own distruction, they had nuclear weapons, cars, ipods, and mobile phones, but with the distruction of the planet in their time it wiped them completely out, after which we had the dinosaurs who were able to dominate the earth and grow to their size, as there was nothing to defeat them, and the prehistoric man (survivors of the distruction) had to work with what they had, creating a fire with sticks, inventing the wheel, and hunt for food, eating raw meat without means to cook, and slowly we reached the time we are in today, where we have everything, and yet we are in such a volatile world, that evolution may be distructed again, and will take the same cycle in another billion years. this is an excert from my book in progress what do you think. comments please

please read carefully dinosaurs were able to grow and exist because humans were scarce, allowing them to dominate, the few humans lived in hidden places, to avoid being eaten, until they were able to grow a population that could wipe out the dinosaurs

It is an entertaining idea but it is also impossible. If a high technology like ours existed in the distant past there would have to be unmistakable evidence such as unnatural deposits of metals etc. We would know it. It could not be hidden or obscured by the passage of time.

Update:
The metals deposits cannot be erased by time because we use combinations of metals that are never found in nature and any civilization as advanced as you postulate would have also. Such unnatural mixtures of metals would survive for billions of years. Since we do not find these unnatural combinations of metals we know there was not advanced prior metalworking civilization even if that were the only evidence to have survived.

Actually it might be interesting for your book for your modern humans to discover traces of the long past civilization in unnatural metal alloys or other interesting ways. It could make for some interesting plot twists and would also increase the scientific realism of the book.

Okay, I'll go easy on you since you're only thirteen. First of all, there's a big bang theory, and there's an evolution theory. The two are completely unrelated, except that the first is necessary for the second to occur. Can't hardly have things evolving if the universe never banged, right? Second, it's >possible< that some 'god', for lack of a better term, started everything off, and then just stepped aside to let things take their course. Possible, but not necessary. Just sayin'. Third, there is no proof that any god exists, nor is there any disproof, and there never will be any. The bible doesn't prove anything, except that a long time ago some guys wrote down some stuff and it got collected into one book that some people take as scripture. Lastly, science CAN be trusted. If you know the scientific method, it is self evident that it is infallible when properly used, and when improperly used, the error is soon discovered by rival scientists. However, no part of ANY scientific theory says "....and therefore, no god exists." Science deals only with the natural world, and the supernatural is left to religionists to argue about. One thing more - thanks SO much for caring about correct spelling and grammar. That's a very rare quality these days (just take a look at some of the posts in this site), and many of us do appreciate it.

There was a tv documentary i saw a few years ago which im trying to find, I think it was called 'the day the earth began'. Basically 4.5 million Years ago 2 massive rocks/planets collided and became the earth and the moon. The earth was just a big ball of red hot lava, then (i can't remember in which order it happened) something created an atmosphere and clouds which rained acid rain for thousands (or millions) of years, which eventually cooled the earths surface down which turned the lava to rock and stuff, then comets from the earth/moon collision pounded earth which put protein on earth, which somehow made plants and trees grow, then insects and fish, then mammals and dinosaurs, then dinosaurs got wiped out by an asteroid then it all started growing again but this time instead of dinosaurs, the moronic human! thats the jist of it.
Obviously the documentary explains it properly

I have a similar theory to yours.
My theory is that there was the level of technology that we have now millions of years ago, including travel into space and that perhaps the humans from this time made such a mess of the planet that they moved to another planet leaving the animals here to evolve (as you said) into dinosaurs. Then the whole cycle of evolution of humans started all over again.
You should continue with your book as your theory makes just as much sense as other theorys that we accept about evolution.
We dont have any hard facts so anything is possible.
I am sure in thousands of years they will be laughing at our ideas on evolution and wonder how we could have got it so wrong.

I like your imagination! As a fictitious story it's entertaining. This may well have happened in another galaxy who knows? I'm sure earthlings have idiot counterparts on another planet somewhere else who went through the cycle you've pointed out in your idea. Bring on imagination I say. It gets everyone talking! I think people can be too serious sometimes. And anyway look at the great philosphers of our world. People thought they were mad with their theories lke the earth being round etc.

I think you are not a scientific kind of guy, you need to base any theory on something and go from there to support or deny your theory, you are not showing anything that support you theory, you are just letting your imagination go and that is good for science fiction but not for evolution stuff,
give me something that get me thinking and we'll talk again

I'm not sure what it adds to a story.
Its ok as a plot device to set up an alernative world. Conan the Barbarian was a little like this though.

The fossil record does not show that. It shows the earliest human bones as being much younger than the youngest dinosaur bones.

Humans and dinosaurs never lived at the same time. Dinosaurs were lived and died WAY BEFORE the first humans ever came into existence.

You opening statement shows you are clueless, "I have alternative theory". You can not possibly have a theory. You have NOT researched the subject, nor have you tested any hypothesis, nor do you have reams of data from hundreds of years.

Anything you typed after that was just a waste of space. As I surmise you may well be.
