Lets see,if I put bugs in a Frog cage will the frogs eat them. . . . YES!
If the ducks can get them into their mouths they will eat them, this is what they do out in the wild.
Peking ducks or any duck for that matter left on a pond survives on fish, fish eggs, snails, crustations of any kind, algae, bugs, worms and grass.
I raised my Peking duck from ducklings and they don't know what bread is for and won't eat it but they certainly eat bugs and worms that they dig up or that I find and feed them so this idea that ducks are vegetarians is non-sence.
I feed my ducks the same feed that I feed my chickens (a mixture of grains, layer krumbles and oyster shell) and I let them out of their pen ocassionally to feed on the grass and in the winter time I supply them with alfalfa hay. . .this helps to make their yolks a prettier yellow.
My Peking ducks have 2 water ponds(a kiddie pool and a small stock tank) and if I had fish in them you wouldn't be able to see them as the ducks keep that water DIRTY/NASTY!
Alot of people will say that Chickens are nasty birds and that's only because they have never had a duck.
As soon as I clean out the ponds and refill them with fresh water,it isn't 5 minutes and it looks like I have never changed the water.(Mud and Poop. . . INSTANTLY) At this rate, even if the ducks didn't eat the fish, the fish would not be able to survive very long because of the dirty and nasty water.
Yes by all means, give them water for swimming but don't expect it to stay clean and I'd leave out the fish unless you want to just put them in there to feed the ducks and if you do that,I wouldn't go to any great expense. . .I'd just go to a fishing bait house and get a dozen minnows or so.

Ducks do not eat fish, they eat vegetation. However, your koi may attract fish-eating birds in your area, such as herons, egrets, and cormorants. Because you may never see these birds feasting on your fish, you may blame your ducks when the fish disappear, but the ducks are not to blame.
