Why not believe both?
The Catholic Church does not take the stories of creation in the Bible literally. Catholics believe the book of Genesis tells religious truth and not necessarily historical fact.
One of the religious truths is that God created everything and declared all was good.
Catholics can believe in the theory of evolution. Or not. The Church does not require belief in evolution.
On August 12, 1950 Pope Pius XII said in his encyclical Humani generis:
The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.
Here is the complete encyclical: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_12081950_humani-generis_en.html
The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.
As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.
With love in Christ.

Emeril is God. He kicked up evolution a notch. BAM!
Both points are based in theory (faith) so you have to accept what everyone says is a theory too. God and everything is God... except what Goddess really did. The human race needs to take care of this planet cause it is a long drive to get to the next one and the kids will be asking, "are we there yet." 24 billion times.
Get real people. We all have to embrace peace if this is what we want. It doesn't matter who believes in what because this planet was presented to mankind by whomever you want to believe or not believe in. When it is in the toilet bowl and the whole race is swirling down the drain, I am going to be sitting on the rim trying to figure out how to clean up YOUR MESSES with a sly look and a rope tied around the toilet handle.
This world can't survive wirh everyone fighting to be right. It doesn't matter. If the planet is gone... it is gone. Words are power and the word will be you all f'ed up and nobody is right.

Science has a law called the the First Law of Thermodynamics which asserts that matter or its energy equivalent can neither be created nor destroyed under natural circumstances. Even when we consume something with fire we have a substance change from previous material into heat, ash and smoke. Even the heat flows somewhere else and is absorbed (not destroyed) by something else. Modern secular science is correct as far as what nature can NOTdo it – but they err since they do not really consider, that there was a beginning and there was a supernatural origin of energy. That God put aside many of the laws which we live by, and created everything from nothing.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
(Genesis 1:1-3)
In the beginning of this creation – God created everything from nothing! 'God that made the world and all things therein' (Acts 17:24). He spoke and there it was. 'By the word of the Lord were the heavens made' (Ps. 33:6) in a mere six days.
Genesis 1:1-3 "And God saw the light, that it was good:"
That’s a hard point to miss in the creation account. After each day God says it was good. It was perfect without any flaw or sin. It was perfectly in harmony with God. God made the world to demonstrate his own glory. The world is a looking glass, in which we may see the power and goodness of God shine forth. 'The heavens declare the glory of God' (Ps. 19:1). The creation is like a wonderfully curious piece of tapestry, in which we may see the skill, knowledge, and wisdom of Him that made it.

How about we leave the spiritual world up to the religious folks and the physical world up to the scientific folks.
I believe in God but also believe evolution as a theory (don't tell me I have to choose a side). I believe the Bible is the WHAT happened and the evolution theory as the HOW it happened.
God is not a "some guy" you been watching too many George Burns movies. God doesn't have to "snap his fingers" God only needs to desire something to exist and it will exist. God is not a someone or a something, God is everything.
And I don't believe God is restricted or owned by any one religion.

The evidence for evolution is and has been interpreted from a Philosophical and ideological Bias, The answers given by adherents to Evolution here in R&S is proof of the bias and agenda, Atheism has to have an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence.
Darwin once identified himself as a Christian but as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God. Evolution was invented by an atheist.
What is sad is that Christians are falling into this Trap and trying to fit evolution into the Bible (Theistic Evolution) thinking they can make it fit.
Lee Stroble in his video listed below “ The Case for the Creator” stated (5 min. 28 sec into the video) The Case for a Creator
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajqH4y8G0MI
That “There is no way you can Harmonize Neo Darwinism with Christianity, I could never understand Christians who would say “ Well I believe in God yet I believe in Evolution as well” You see Darwin’s idea about the development of life led to his theory that modern science now generally defines as an undirected process completely devoid of any purpose or plan,”. Now how could God direct an undirected process? How could God have purpose in a plan behind a system that has no plan and no purpose? It just does not make sense.
It didn’t make sense to me in 1966 and it doesn’t make sense to me now.
The Apostle Paul wrote to His Son Timothy stating that “ in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, [because] they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn [their] ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”
Those Christians who believe in evolution have no idea how that effects their theology.

Seriously, if you believe in evolution then you are saying that everything came from nothing. Let's see THAT happen again. Mind boggling. Why is ours so hard to believe, but yours is easier? Try throwing a bunch of components into a dryer for a few billion years and see if you get a computer at the end of it.

You don't have to choose which to believe. You can believe both or a mixture of the two. I personally believe that the comsos were birthed my the Goddess and threw out time, things slowly came to be as they are to day.

I believe in Creation. I don't understand how you couldn't. YOU believe we came from nothing (oh yah real logical). The scientific law states that nothing can come from nothing, so how did evolution begin. I believe in God because of all the things I've seen him do for me and people I know.
Let's look at it this way If I'm wrong and your right, then when I die I'll just be dead in my grave, But if I'm right and your wrong where will that put you. (hell)

Evolution AND creation. God created evolution. Evolution evolved life on Earth with God's hand. We evolved from primates physically, and now we are evolving spiritually in the spirit that God gave us when he created His children.
What's so hard about that? They don't contradict each other anyways.
PS. Illuminati are just that, people who understand God and Science and that they don't contradict each other. They also know the Absolute Truth of the One True God of All in All. I'm not an illuminati, but was illumed with fire and wisdom by spontaneous baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a common experience amongst those "Illuminati", "Masons", etc etc.

I believe in creationism. It doesn't make sense to me that we were made from rocks. I keep seeing people being convince by listening to ignorant statements from scientists giving "evidence" that was proven wrong years ago. Kent Hovind made videos that support my statement.
