It actually is a philosophy and not a religion. Hence no need to discuss a god or God. In fact, you can be a Buddhist and a Christian at the same time just fine. Buddha is not a god, never claimed to be, and never is worship as such. It is a philosposhy that actaully can be adhered to in the modern age and not be hypocritical. If you think Buddha is worshiped as a god, then you are missing the point.

No, it's not crazy at all.
Not nearly as wacky as a god that gives you free will but also says you must not use it for fear of receiving a supernatural spanking. Some other god goes around knocking up virgins just so he can kill the person 30 years later to save the souls of people who won't be born for a few thousand years. Then there's other wacky gods that created you in their image, only to ask you to lop off a piece of a man's body after he's born. And I'm not even scratching the surface of the wacky monotheistic religions.

you try to be smart and you don't even know how to SPELL it..so obviously it's safe to come to the conclusion that you know nothing about it and say it's "messed up"...how credible does that make you sound?
not very.
"
Any faith that doesnt have the true and living God is messed up. "
i think it's much more sane than a religion which believes in imaginary Gods...i'm not a Buddhist..so this is my unbiased opinion of Buddhism.
2:
Buddhism is a religion later formed by the followers of Buddha who was a Hindu and he teaches nothing other than Hindu Vedanta.
no Buddhism was NOT "later formed" by anyone.Buddhism means the teachings OF Buddha...what HE taught, and NOT later formed by anybody.Buddha was a Hindu by birth, but later had nothing to do with Hinduism itself.
Buddhism isn't a "subset of Hinduism"..it is a philosophy and some teachings are quite different from Hinduism, but there are also similarities since they're both based on "ahinsa":not harming others

it was Prince Siddhartha who meditated and enlightened his mind and became Gauthama Buddha (they are not 2 people)

No I like Buddhism a lot better then certain religions. I like just about any religion other then Christianity due to the Fundamentalist/Evangelical, Conservative parts which are judgemental like the Fundamentalist/Evangelical, Conservative Christians. Otherwise I don't have a problem with Liberal Christianity. You're a real jerk.

Its not a messed up religion but a religion of peace and devotion. If you call the mix of these as "messed" up then YES!

It's not messed up in the least and is very close to the truth of the divine.

No, I do not. Buddhism is very peaceful, and very spiritual.
You should read 'Awakening the Buddha Within" by Lama Surya Das. It is an excellent source of Buddhist beliefs.

all religions are quite messed up.
The debate is about which one is more messed up than the other.
