Use $1 plastic tableclothes from the dollar store. Find a fabric outlet store that sells sheer nylon fabric. It is usually very wide and costs about $1 a yard. Cover the plastic with the sheer fabric.
OR go to walmart or any discount fabric store/outlet and look for cheap fabric to make tableclothes. You may be able to find tropical prints. They DO NOT have to match! If lack of time or sewing skills is a problem, use pinking shears to cut around the fabric.
I gave my son/daughter-in-law a huge luau engagement party and decorated the food tables with a tropical print fabric and used long leaves (lily) from the garden as a tableskirt. We stapled the leaves to the fabric. It looked awesome. Good luck

Look, if you have anything in writing that states these "items" were to be "included" - hold the Elks Club to their word, or sue them! Ask for your money back - you have lots of time. I will assume that you are sitting 4 per table = 88 and the Head Table. Are they going to set the table up? What kind of tables are they? In some cases you will Not need a table cloth, a table "centre piece" will do. Now it can't cost that much to use the "dinner ware and cutlery"? Compared to what it will cost t The theme of your wedding can dictate the "dress code" and that could eliminate your problems, as your guests could sit where they want and table arrangements made to look like a "luau". Put them in a row - x4 - use only streamers on the outside - use "balloons" with the sticks for the centre pieces -and those can be put into any type of empty bottle - the weirder the better!! Set the tables to the outside of the room leaving the center open for you to serve the pieces of wedding cake to your guests, and after dinner, for dancing. Good Luck and I'll pray that you get a great day for that special occasion.

If you are getting plastic dinner, then the paper table cloths will be OK. Also the plastic table cloths. What it matter is how the decorations and colors look. Any way the most important of all is you, the bride. You are the center of attention. Don't worry about the rest. You don't want to start your marriage with a debt. Congratulations!

I think paper tableclothes is perfectly acceptable and they are only about $2 or $3 each, plastic ones are a little bit more about $4 or $5. Beside if you are having children at the reception you can give them crayons to write on the paper ones and that helps keep them from getting bored. I'm using paper ones for this reason, plus it is easier to find the colors i want with the paper ones. Congrats.

I am all for linen. But if you ahve to do the plastic tablecloths maybe get a square of chiffon in your weding colors and it put it on the top. But just where the corners would hit the edge of the table. I have never seen it done but it might take away from the plastic a little bit. You could even try some toehr fabric that goes with your theme. Good Luck!

Paper or plastic will work fine. Different colors would look good with a luau theme. You can do a lot with that theme using color and the paper or plastic. have fun

Don't do paper, that would be tacky, but you could do plastic if they matched your Luau theme.
