Many people like to tailor the bible for their own beliefs. the only way to tell the true interpretation of the bible is to compare it with other scriptures and see if it makes sense.

It is all filtered through the individuals fears, preconceptions and personal perspective.
This can alter the interpretation drastically.

Because people are biased and try to skew God's words into something that backs up their own ideas. Which is why is so damn confusing to know what to believe these days.
Which is why I dont even bother trying any more.

Jesus speaks often in parables to make us use our minds to determine the righteous path to walk. Sure He can tell it to us straight out, but He also gave us minds to reason with, and learn through our mistakes.
