There are all kinds of people living in all kinds of conditions. Some babies die shortly after birth, some are born with horrible defects, and some are born rich and beautiful. Why?
Your perspective in justice may say that if God is loving and just then he must give to each person equal opportunities in life. But God sees beyond our life and into the next and he alone can understand the reasons for the apparent inequalities. To God, what counts is our souls.

Prior to birth we lived as spirit children of our Heavenly Father. He prepared this earth so we could grow and develop by obtaining experiences that would help us understand the true principles of happiness.
It's one thing to tell your child that lying is bad, but true understanding comes as the child notices what happens to a relationship when trust is damaged.
Heavenly Father can and does tell us truth through a variety of means such as prayer, scriptures, and other people, but to really understand, it is necessary that we experience what happens when people make both good and bad choices.
Some of the circumstances under which people are born seem cruel or arbitrary, but I have faith that our Heavenly Father knows what he's doing to bring about our salvation in the Eternal scheme of things.

We all have life choices and free will. As long as people choose to have numerous children as is often the case in 3rd world countries, there will be massive deprivation and poverty. That has absolutely nothing to do with God.

Everyone, no matter what family they are born into, has endless opportunity. Some of the greatest people who ever lived were born into this "misery and deprivation" you mention.
Your destiny is your own to make ... so make good choices!

There IS a purpose for our life. And yes, I think they are condemned for simply being brought to this world of pain and disease, of old age and greed...
It's all due to imperfection, but Jehovah's purpose was to see PERFECT humans fill the earth and serve him HAPPILY. Remember Adam and Eve? He gave them a paradise! That shows that His real purpose wasn't anything close to what the world is today. But since man has free will, and since and Adam and Eve chose to disobey him from the start, Jehovah has allowed this. But only for a short time. Jehovah despises seeing His servants suffering, but Satan is mocking him, and Satan mocked Him from the very start, also, by implying to Eve that God lied when He told Eve that she would die if she ate from the fruit of the tree that she eventually ate from. God is NOT liar; He speaks truth. But Satan told Eve that she "most certainly wouldn't die"...that she would be more powerful than Jehovah himself. And now Satan is doing the same to us, putting forth false religions and making people believe that they could manage their life without God and be truly happy. and this is pretty much a chance for the people who DO want to serve God, to demonstrate that they will keep loyal to God because of their geniune love to Him, not only because He answers their prayers when they need it. So think about this, and realize by reading the Bible that it's propheisized that these are "the last days". And they are, look around you. How far can man go before completely destroying the human race?? But God won't let it come to that, so we know that the destruction of false religion and Satan is very, very close!

Is endless opportunity an SUV in the driveway, or the ability to walk unaided?
Perhaps we in the West put far too much importance in the material trappings of life.

The conditions that we live in while on this Earth, in the big picture, don't matter, atleast, not when you compare them to the conditions in which we will live for eternity. A hundred years at the most does not even begin to compare to unimaginable, eternal, infinite eons in Heaven or Hell.

Woah there, you use the words misery and deprivation like they are bad things? After all, God is morally perfect, so if he has cursed all newborns with original sin, we should praise him for it for it is the right thing to do.
Yeah right. I'm agnostic.

I believe we choose who our parents will be before we come here. Most of the circumstances of our life was decided by us while we were still on the other side.
