Ok I am laughing while I type this but I always wanted to know, Who decided that God was one true God? People then tell me Jesus. But if Jesus was God, then wouldn't he obviously say that? Why would he call himself fake?

Honey I have no desire to recieve the Lord. And with attitudes like yours, I never will.
I laugh because of the wording. It was one of those things you had to read a few times to get but I couldn't think of any other way to put it.

I appreciate your logic that there can only be one God, but it doesn't make sense to me. I personally feel the female/male aspect of Gods made much more sense. Just me.

Ok I am confused. I have a few ppl saying Jesus never made claims of being God and some of you are stating he did indeed and I have bible passages proving both I think. So which is it? Did Jesus claim to be God or not?

Many religions believe they have the only true gods. The hebrews had many gods called Elohim at one time. Moses invented Yahweh and gave his First Commandment that one should put Yahweh ahead of all the other gods. Moses is classified as a henotheist, not a monotheist. His name is Egyptian and he was probably influenced by Ikhnaton the first man to reject polytheism.

An Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten, first attempted to consolidate the Egyptian religion under one God. It didn't completely take, but it did have a lasting influence on the region, particularly among some of the desert tribes outside of Egypt.

Moses is likely a composite character, partly comprised of Akhenaten and Sargon, along with much embellishment.

One of the very earliest attempts at montheism was introduced by teh Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten, who tried to convert Egypt to the worship of the one god Aten around 1350 BC.

The birth of Moses in Egypt is placed around 50 years after this.

Poor old JC

People tend to forget the facts.
Israel was under foreign control (the Romans)

The Jews were being slaughtered - see Masada etc.
They had been predicting the Messiah but he/she/it still hadn't shown up.
Most other countries had their hero.

Iraq had their Sinbad
America have had their Superman.
England their St George.
etc etc etc

Who did the Jews have?
They needed a hero.

Hi Jesus!
Looking for a job?

I decided a long time ago that there was only one true God. I'm sure lots of people have decided the same thing.

Jesus didn't just make grandiose claims about himself and expect people to take his word for it. He rose from the dead. Don't you think that's a good reason to take him seriously?

Who decided that? I don't want to know. But one thing I am very sure. If we have more than one god, the universe is going to be a terrible place. Especially when they start arguing which one is superior.

Jesus is not God. Because of his superhuman powers, he is 'a god', as shown in correct renderings of John 1:1

Bibles older than 1987 have God's name in them. The most popular verse is Ps. 83:18

Psa 83:18 That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, Art the Most High over all the earth.

There were many Gods before Christianity. Again... control... control of what people could believe and who they could believe in.

Jesus did say obviously that He was God.

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Doesn't get any plainer than that
