Well sweeite, I was on the shot for 3 years - and am now on Seasonique and am now late on my period (with slight spotting). I thought I could be pregnant but not for sure yet especially with the spotting now. But from what I have been reading about the depo shot is that it takes as long as you've been on it for it to be completely out of your system (ie. it would take 3 years for it to be completely out of mine). I don't whether or not to believe that or not though. I can tell you though my horomones are more messed up than ever after being on that shot and I would not reccommend it to anyone to take it. I would suggest getting off of it in hopes to get pregnant! I would say it'd probably take a couple of months for you to get back on track especially since your not going to another birth control method. Best of luck to you! = )

My Depo shot came off last Dec 08. On Jan 09, my period is back to normal. On Mar 09 I missed my period and try my luck to take HPT. Now I'm confirmed 7 weeks pregnant. For me, it just take about 2 months to conceive. Before I took the shot, my doctor informed that I will need minimum 6 months if I want to conceive. As per my reading (I can't remember which website), we still can get pregnant immidiately after the shot come off but the percentage is low. Still a chance is a chance.

I took the depo shot 3 times and my last shot was in Sept 06. After that I got my first period at the end of january but bled for almost 3 weeks straight before they put me on the pill to regulate my hormones. I took one round of the pilll and then had a regular period. That period was on march 9th and now I'm pregnant so It didn't take anywhere near what I had heard it could. The one thing to keep in mind is ovulation may be way off. Based on lmp I should be around 8 weeks and repeat ultrasound show I'm only at about 6 weeks 3 days so ovulation was very late. Blood tests and ultrasound show the baby is growing normally. I was really worried about all of the stories that I had heard but it worked out for me so hopefully you will have good luck as well.

I took it for almost 2 years and got pregnant 15 months after my last shot. I had a friend on it for a year and got pregnant a year and a half later. I know everyone is different, and you could get pregnant right away, or it could take atleast a year. I would personally just stop now and it would probably take 6 months to a year and a half to get pregnant. If you want you could start a pill for another 6 months or so, I prefer them over the depo.

It can take up to 12 months so it's suggested that you quit way ahead of time, and use another birth control method until you are ready to try. My friend switched to the pill a year before they were going to try and then went on the pill.
As far as when it leaves it your system, it takes 3 months, and you should not try within that time because it has been linked to birth defects.

I was on it for five years, and I was lucky as for me I had a period with in eight weeks, and from that I had a regular period but very heavy, until I went onto the coil, I was on that for a year then I had heavy bleeding and went onto the marina for a year. I had the marina out and within weeks I was pregnant with my beautiful daughter,
It all depends on what your body is like, but I would think with only being on it for a short time I wouldn't take long.
All the best and good luck xx
