do NOT remove a splinter from close to the eye, in the eye, or under a finger or toenail - go to the ER
1] do not soak it. If it is wood, the splinter will swell, making it harder to get out.
2] hold ice wrapped plastic, then paper towel to area to numb it
3] wipe tweezers with alcohol. If you can't reach the end of the
splinter, wipe an unused needle with alcohol and lift up the skin at the entry to the wound.
4] remove splinter
5] thoroughly scrub with soap and water, apply antibiotic and dry bandage.
6] if it was deep, call the doc to see if you need a tetanus booster

David: This method I'm going to tell you is something we used to do when I was a kid. Somehow when you are a kid you seem to always get splinters. My grandmother used to take a piece of bacon place it over the area where the splinter was, then, take a band-aid and cover it. Wait a day and you will surely find the splinter on the piece of bacon band-aid. Good luck.

I use a very thin needle and sanitize it and the area with alcohol or Hydrogen peroxide.

Take the tip of the needle and gentle split the skin that is over the splinter unto you can get enough splinter exposed to pull it out with tweezers.

I hope that helps you out. Put peroxide on it after you are finished to help heal it.

I got this out of a folk magazine article. Cut a potato and place one part of it over the area. Something in the potato helps release the splinter to the surface

First, soak it in water, to get the skin nice and soft. Then, get a safety pin and try to remove the skin that is covering it up. (make sure the pin is steralized) use a pair of tweezers to grab the splinter and remove. Make sure you use rubbing alcohol or anti bacterial cream to keep it from getting infected.

the 1st project to objective is removing the splinter with tweezers. this is too deep. the proper project to do then is to apply a sterilized sewing needle and intently pull it out. This constantly works for me.

Easiest way is either with super glue or duct tape. They both work. Just a tiny bit of super glue over the splinter.....let it dry and pull the glue off. Same with the duct tape. CAUTION!!!! Do this ONLY if its below your neck and above your waste or below...only on your legs or feet.....

Use tweezers and if it is stuck deep scratch some of the skin off that is over is and pull it right out. You could also use peroxide, sometimes that will sort of bubble it out!!
