You are talking about the Thai custom of "mia gep" or a mistress.

The minimum cost per month would be 15000 Baht per month. This would cover accommodation, basic living costs and some gifts. There would usually have been an initial payment. This is the bottom end.

Almost all businessmen, politicians, top civil servants, policemen etc keep a mistress in Thailand. Total costs of over 50,000 Baht a month would not be surprising. Many man buy their mistresses a car. That would be 600,000 Baht.

It is a whole industry here.

Hi, the standard of living in Bangkok is quite high, though the cost of living is quite low. You should be able to get a room for a monthly rate of 6-9000bahts.

As for medical fees, it will depend on the treatment concerned. Can cost from a few hundred bahts to a few thousand bahts, if there is going to be hospital stay involved. For the local, this is considered expensive, that is why most will self-medicate and you can buy a number of medications over the counter.

Thailand is a third world country. The standard of living isn't very good for the average person. Rents are cheap though. You can probably find a room for $20US a day. Medical fee for what ?
