You're probably referring to something like this: http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire_collection/pr2004027a/
which is called the Cat's Eye Nebula.

Is the "Crab Nebula" a giant space crab? It's utter primitivistic silliness. The so-called "Eye of God", Helix Nebula (NGC 7293), only resembles a human eye from our angle. It is only is only among many, many, supernova remnants we've found that look like a big jaundiced eye from our angle in the galaxy, and more are being formed all the time. It's an expanding gas cloud around an exploded star.

I suppose you also think angels open the flowers in the morning and close them at night? How in the world can you waste time on such caveman nonsense when you are siting there using a computer, produced by science that religion has always tried to suppress? Seriously.

I know the image from the Hubble telescope that you refer to. I believe it's a nebula, and yes, it looks just like an eye. The caption under the pic in National Geographic Magazine read "The Hubble telescope stared into the cosmos and the eye of God stared back," or something similar.

It's just an expression used to describe this specific nebula since it resembles an eye, viewed from this angle.

What intrigues me is, why this specific name? Maybe one of the hidden agenda of NASA is to look for God. Hah! What a contradiction. An ultra-scientific space/astronomy organization thinks that maybe, there is a God.

Also, since we are looking at one end of this helix (which is a trillion miles, or is that light years,? long), I wonder where it ends. Maybe at a optic nerve that leads to the brain of God. There is that word again : God.

Yo Yo Mama : You need to get you definition of science clear. Most Christians do not reject science. The Bible has a number of scientific principles that they accept (as well as other scientific theories and laws). What most Christians reject is macro-evolution (which is neither a SCIENTIFIC theory nor a scientific law). It is merely a hypothesis. It falls in the realm of philosophy. Neither the fossil record nor genetics support macro-evolution. And you still have to account for ooparts.

No one has seen God's face, so I don't think it's true that NASA has seen God's eye.

Technically, no. But they have seen a nebula that resembles an eye due to it's orientation to Earth.

No, but all men know there is a God and are without excuse.

Romans 1:20

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

There is a nebula (a cluster of celestial bodies) called God's Eye because from millions of miles away it resembles a human iris and pupil.

there are no gods, and no god eyes anywhere to be seen.

I wonder who spreads these kinds of lies. They're not even remotely believable.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
