Well, because THEY understand, don't they? Their sect or "church" are the chosen ones and THEY have the answers. It's called control.

They have clearly not thought carefully about what they're saying. Many of these theists are members of the religious right. They are so far gone in sin that they really do not understand God because they choose not to understand Him. If they changed their attitudes to ones of seeking and accepting the truth, then they could get to know God in spite of their past sins.

In the time that I have become an atheist, it has come to my attention that being such a thing comes with a lot of baggage in the theists world. The non belief of an all seeing, all-knowing imaginary friend cannot be absorbed by the preprogrammed minds of theists.

Trained pets do not understand all we say but know simple commands. We don't understand how God created the cosmos but we acknowledge there had to be a Creator.
I don't understand my Samsung DLP TV but I can operate the remote and watch what is on.
We don't understand the details and all the "how" of God but we can admire His work and thank Him for it.
