That is simlpy not the case. The Bible, though not a science text, is always shown to be true in scientific light. The fact is, many of our greatest discoveries have been made by Bible believing scientist who were following what the Bible says.
The main point of contention I've seen here is between the Bible and the Theory of Evolution, evolution including cosmic, chemical, biological and macro-evolution. Let's get a deffinition of science: knowledge gained through observation and experimentation. Since no one has ever observed evolution, and no one can do any experiments confirming evolution, by deffinition, evolution isn't a science.
Evolution, not being a science, is actually a religion onto its own, and needs to be accepted by faith. There's nothing wrong with believing in evolution, but realize it's your religion.
I already have a faith, so I don't need to believe in yours. Who here agrees with me, that GOD created the earth, and Created us in HIS image?

Mountainman........
What you showing here is variation of species and not evolution. When people returned to the islands 14 years latter, they found changes in the lizards, but they were still lizards. The finches of the Galapagoes Islands had different shaped beaks, but they were still finches..
Scientist set up straw men. They say this proves evolution, if a finch can change the shape of it's beak, than a monkey can evolve into a man. Macro-evolution has never been observed, nor have any transitional fossils ever been found.
Look at dogs. there are over 250 varieties of dogs today. There are big dogs and little dogs; dogs with short hair or long hair; different colored dogs. Does this prove evolution? They are all still dogs, from a common ancestor, a dog.
The Bible says that each KIND of animal will produce after it's KIND. What you did with your posting, you showed the Bible to be true.....
THANK YOU

I do not believe that science is ever contradictory to the Word of God..... Man's theories and suppositions, however, often lead to points of contention when they are blatantly presented as absolutes to the exclusion of God's revealed Word.... I agree with you.

Gahh no. Creation according to Genisis in seven days is IMPOSSIBLE, even like the order in which things were created and where is the mention of all the other stars and galaxies being created. It is also impossible that the Earth is only six to ten thousand years old considering we can accurately and indisputably date artifacts or fossils or whatever to be much much older. And there are oh so many inconsistencies with the facts in the bible throughout. But the bible isn't meant to be followed word for word and way too much of it too far outdated to even be relevant in todays society. The bible was written and very edited by MAN not God, to claim that something written by the hand of man is the ultimate word of God just seems blasphemous to me to be honest.
The Bible is a myth by definition no more or less accurate than any other myth the ancients believed.

There is a direct conflict between religion and science. Religion demands that you accept certain things as absolute truth. Science says that everything is subject to empirical evaluation. These two innate concepts are in direct opposition to each other.

I guess I have to ask what you think of forensics. If evolution is religion, does that make forensics a cult? If no one witnesses a crime, does that mean we should just shrug and move on to the next case? Maybe we should alert the fundamentalists so they can boycott CSI like they did Harry Potter. I would hope you don't think that should be the case. I think paleontology is similar. We are given fossils and try to piece them together to get a coherent story of the past. We validate findings against other cases.

Count me in. You are correct-it is not science verses the Bible , or God. It is 'scientist' verses 'scientist'. The majority of scientist in the last poll I saw believed in Darwinian Evolution (55%). But 45% did not! They interpret what they see "differently". Now, I admit that the balance of them did not believe in creation either, but the field is split on this. Its not a slam dunk for evolutionist.
Evolution is just a belief, and all the 'science' behind it has been manipulated. Just look at how a dinosaur bone is dated!-If you don't know-you should learn-then question it, you will learn some more. Many scientist lie-why? For what reason would a professional scientist deliberately manipulate data to support his belief? Why?

Science IS against the Bible. Scientific research shows the world is over 6000 years old - a claim that can be found in the Bible by tracing back the bloodlines.

Like all science, evolution is the best possible explanation for the evidence we have before us.

This is based on logic and reasoned thinking, taking into account species differences, fossils, extinctions etc.

Faith was useful to stop humans feeling overwhelmed during their evolution - it explained things simply so we didn't have to think too much.

It is time to move on and start using our brains.

You are very confused. Evolution is a science and religion is a myth used by the weak/naive to comfort themsleves in times of need or hardship

genuinely the conflict will not be received on both area until eventually one area supplies somewhat. yet there are some clues an atheist like me can see that the conflict is clearing up. in case you listen "Jesus loves you" it truly is elementary to finish that the atheist has left the theist with no longer something else to say. besides it truly is no longer plausible for the theist to win at the same time as each and each of the information is non tangible faith.

That's true. The Bible isn't a science book but when it speaks of scientific things it speaks accurately. So science can always turn to the Bible if it speaks of any scientific fact. And also of Creation.
