There are many branches of each of the ten religions with the largest population of followers. Each one emphatically affirms it's unity with the creator and condemns all others on the authority of their particular 'holy book' . How does a seeker know when they've found "The One"? Is there "One"?

How could that be one if all were created by one. For the creator to favor one over the other is silly, if that were the case why not only create the one who worships you.

Organized religions seem to distort the whole creator concept by saying they are the one and the others are not.

If you have to have faith in something start with yourself. Most religions believe man was created in Gods image, so start their, have faith in yourself, then your creator, then your country. You cannot have faith in governments, or other men, it is a false hope that will fail.

It doesn't take much of a brain to figure this out. Just an open one. Out of all the so-called 'holy books', only one claims so. All major religions are Eastern in origin. The rest are just variations of one or the other. If you study the main tenants of each and its own supporting documents, plus its history, you will conclude quickly that the Jewish/Christian religion is the only one with enough evidence to give it at least a small amount of credibility. Once you ever conclude that "some" of it is true, and study further-you will realize that the whole thing could be true. Skeptics have to work it this way. They can not believe what someone else digs out-they have to do it themselves. Those who do-believe. There are many 'used to be' anti-Christian skeptics who are now apologist for the faith. How could that happen?-unless there was some truth there? Most people go about this backwards. They start with the assumption that a religion is wrong and set out to prove just that. Try it the other way-try to prove it right-it goes much faster. You will get to the bottom line sooner.
The Bible claims to "be alive", and have a "power" to transform. Why don't you start with it. Find someone who knows it and lives it. Allow them to get you started, and guide you when needed.

Our Creator demonstrates logic and order in all His creations. All we can really give in return is our worship. He doesn't need cash or cars.

Logically He would have a method that is acceptable to Him for worship. Jesus said of the proper worship to his Father, "Broad and spacious is the road leading to destruction, and many are the ones going through it. Whereas narrow is the gate and cramped is the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. (Matt. 7: 13-14)

Verses 15-20 go on to warn of deceptive false prophets claiming to come from God; but, we could know them by their fruits or how they acted. It is easy to tell many with political, financial, moral scandels cannot be true Christians. That thins the herd rather dramatically, leaving only a few left.

Finding that one way is important. As Jesus said in the above, it means life to us.

There is no favors giving or taking! there is just one God, never-mind how it's called. If you read a bit, the basis of all major religions you will see that they all have th e same point: love, respect and the Messiah, again called differently, that came or is still to come.

Yes, God is one. Religion is one, progressively revealed. Briefly, His system is One, progressively revealed and suited to the capacities of the people in the place and time of its revelation. We can think of each of the world’s great religious systems as grades in school and the revealers or these religions as the teachers. We all need education. However as in school, we need it suited to our capacity. In our early stages we need truth presented to us in a way suitable for our capacity. Think of arithmetic before algebra before calculus. We can think of earlier religions as fulfilling this need. As our capacity grows, a new and greater spiritual truth is necessary and it needs to be suited to our new and greater capacity. We can look to the later great religions for help here. Thinking of clan, tribe, village, town, city, state, nation represent ways in which we conceive our connectedness to others. Religion has progressively aided these ever-advancing unities. We now have the capacity to move beyond our conceiving ourselves as nations and must look to a spiritual system that empowers us to function practically and spiritually on a planetary level. I look to the system of knowledge found in the Baha'i’i Faith and invite those to whom this concept of oneness rings true to investigate further at http://www.bahai.org/ .

I believe that our creator weeps over the dissention among peoples in the creator's name. There is one. Each seeker must go on their journey to understand. When you find it, you will know.

As a matter of fact if you read Isiah, you will find that he set forth conditions to find the religion he favors.
He said "You are my witnesses"
Sound familiar? Jehovah is his name. A proper name, not a title. (God is a title)
He had us adopt his name as Jehovah's Witnesses, many years ago, and we have proudly carried it from door to door ever since.
Yes! We continue to make errors occasionally, but as a loving father would, he corrects us. Proof positive he lives and works with us.

God has never named a true religion. The religions have and they always pick themselves. I'm surprised that religious people aren't able to see through that.

There is One. He favors those who favor Him. He doesn't have a favorite religion. He has no religion at all. Don't you think that Jesus would have told us if there was one specific religion that was the true one? But he did say that we needed to get to His Father, and that no one could get to Him except through Jesus himself.
