No, Jesus was never referred to as a raven in the Bible.

The raven has a few entries, to be sure. It was the first bird released from the Ark (Noah's), and it never returned. It is forbidden as a food animal in the dietary laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. It may be associated with the prophecies about (then) upcoming wars and devastation found in the Old Testament. Other than those references, I'm not sure if it is mentioned again.

The only bird mentioned in relation to Jesus Christ was a dove. When Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, the Holy Spirit took on the bodily form of a dove and landed on Jesus. This particular sign was for John's sake; it was the sign the HS had told him would appear when he baptised the Messiah. He then announced Jesus' mission to all who would hear and listen.

The raven mentioned in the Poe poem had no relation to Jesus either. It was simply somebody's pet, trained to say the word "Nevermore", that had blown into the poet's house during a storm. In the poem, Edgar discovers the bird's one phrase, and begins talking to it, asking all kinds of questions, eventually using the bird to torment himself (by asking for comfort, knowing the bird can only say "Nevermore"). The only near-Biblical phrase that appears in the poem is a reference to the "balm of Gilead", part of the asker's self-torment.

Poe was more than a little strange.

No. Jesus is referred to as the Son of Man, the Prince of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Wonderful Counsellor, the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley, and the Lion of Judah, among others...but Not as the Raven. Absolutely not. Ravens eat carrion (dead animals) so under Mosaic law they are "unclean". No way would Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One, etc. be called by the name of an unclean bird.

An MSNBC article in the present day factors to a sparkling searching which will element out that there develop into countless overlapping between Paganism and Christianity contained in the historic international. A crew of scientists those days presented that they have got discovered a bowl dated from around the time of Christ's life, and it really is engraved with the words Dia Chrstou O Goistais. The excavation crew has translated this as both "with the help of Christ the magician" or "the magician with the help of Christ." If this reference is unquestionably to the Jesus Christ of the Bible, then the outcomes are distinctly interesting. Lead archaeologist Franck Goddio says that a practitioner of magic or divination "would have practiced fortune telling rituals using the bowl." different researchers furnish their theories to boot contained in the item, although the conception surely will develop a valid element. it really is not any longer as although Christianity purely popped up faster or later and historic Pagan cults purely vanished in one day -- it develop into an evolutionary attitude of the human adventure, and surely, it would make experience that both existed area with the help of area for a lengthy time period.
