Alternatively travel by train from London Waterloo to Salisbury. Just outside Salisbury station you can board the Stonehenge Tour bus. You can buy a combined ticket that includes the tour of Salisbury and the Stonehenge area aswell as entry into the monument itself. In fact, when we did it, the bus driver fast tracked us straight in so we didn't have to queue! Anyway, hope you enjoy your visit and don't get caught in a down pour like we did!

I don't know what the cheapest mode of transport would be, but personally your best bet would be to either take a train from London Waterloo to Salisbury and catch a bus to Amesbury, or if travelling by road, take the M3 motorway westbound from London, leave the M3 at the junction for "THE SOUTH-WEST, ANDOVER AND SALISBURY (A303)" and it's approximately 30 minutes to Stonehenge (traffic permitting).

Hope that this is of some help to you.

As Stonehenge is only a stone's throw from London then I would get someone to chuck you in an easterly direction! Sorry! The stones at Stonehenge though are a wee bit heavy and cumbersome - try a bus link from Amesbury via Andover to Victoria! Bon voyage........

Train to somewhere near.. and then a bus... Train will be no more than say £5 and a bus will be like... £2 or something...

Look on the 3rd map down... and see if any towns nearby have a train station.... it's 90 miles from London - that will take AGES on a bus

also, if you have a few people going, hire a car, it will prove much cheaper and more convenient.

Coach would be cheapest, but will probably take ages.
