Of Course there are christians who believe this, my advice would be not to take the gospel as gospel so to speak, hell is a psychological phenomonon, when you're depressed your in hell, but when you accept yourself and you learn to love yourself as others then you are released from hell, there is no such place as hell, hell was made to catch the "spirit of selfish deceit, the lie we tell ourselves, "satan" it was not meant for "us" the true being in which we accept and learn to love. ok, as for evolution, i do not believe in it, quite simply put- is that all living things are like computers, so here goes the intructions for reproduction:
1. a change occurs-
2. tells reproductive system that a change has occured and that it must modify the sperm
3.make sure that the female interface understands the new instruction.
4 tell the female host that there is a new instruction and that all successive offspring will inherrit the change.
Problems: what was the purpose of the change with respect to the enviroment and how was it implemented?, how does wind tell the body that it needs a feather for instance?, how does wind interface with a living organism?, how does it tell the organism or rather how does the organism understand what wind is? how does it make the change to to understand the propereties of wind? how does the cell do this? it just can't!!! it had to be designed, for me i think we have creator, but i don't think it is necessarlilly the god of any holy book on earth. but perhaps those holy books were created by kings and extra terestrials to controll the masses untill we were enlightened enough to except ourselves and love each other and have rightiousness and also to know our inner workings. become spiritual not religious. i hope this helps and that i make sense

I believe some evolution is true, for instance the Mammoth evolved into an elephant, A saber tooth tiger evolved into a tiger. But there are no more mammoth's or saber tooth tigers they evolved and that species died off. Now as far as man coming from ape I think is taking it a bit too far. All the other species that evolved died off why do we still have apes?
also it has already been proved when they showed that they used a human skull and a jaw bone of an ape.

When you say evolution, do you mean micro-evolution (small changes within a species), or are you referring to macro-evolution, the from goo, to the zoo, to you theory that makes us all a cosmic accident?
In order to be a Christian you have to believe that God created.
You can believe in Micro-evolution and still be a Christian.
You can not be a Christian if you do not believe that God created us. This is a rule established in the Creeds of the Church that define what Christianity is.
If you do not believe that God created I have question for you.
Have you ever committed any moral crimes?
(lie, cheat, steal, commit adultery etc....)
If you have never committed any moral crimes you have nothing to worry about.
But if you have, there is a judge in heaven who knows about them. This judge thinks that everyone
who commits a crime should be punished.
This judge is also a loving Father that wants us to have a chance of being forgiven, his Son is willing to give us forgiveness if we are willing to ask for it, but he will not force us to have it.
If we don't want a pardon from the governor of Heaven we don't get one and we will have to pay for our crimes. Hell is the name of God's prison, where we go to pay for our crimes.
But if we have honestly asked our creator to pardon us we will be pardoned.

I certainly hope they wouldn't,first of all because even with the gaps in knowledge theres still more proof for evolution than 85% of what's in the bible. Plus I'm pretty sure that the last pope believed there was some truth to evolution. Didn't mean he rejected christian mythology just meant he thought there was more to it.

Evolution CANT be fit into creation because that is fitting mans faulty ideas into God perfect Word.
I don't really know but if they confess with their mouth believe in their heart Jesus is Lord they will be saved. But how do you defend your christian belief if you don't believe the foundation?

Being a Christian; I do not judge. What other people do and believe in is between them and their maker! I will calmly discuss my views but I will not scream and holler that all who doesn't believe as me will go to hell! That is stupidity!

John 3:16 says "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
This means it's the main criteria for salvation....belief in Jesus as the son of God, and that he died for our sins.

Salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ. Evolution does not enter the picture.

Sadly, yes. There are some very close-minded Christians out there. If they only would open their eyes.
