Maybe. My parents belonged to a different religion (not Muslim) but I converted to Christianity.
And yes, I have done comparative religious studies at college level.
But if I lived in a Muslim country and never had the opportunity to learn from the Bible exactly what Christianity is all about, I certainly would have had no opportunity to even consider being a Christian. And besides, it is illegal, (punishable by death), to convert to Christianity in some Muslim countries.

I don't know. At some point my religion became my own. I don't know if that would have happened with Islam. Despite being the same religion, my parents and I hardly agree on everything. I am significantly more liberal than either of my parents.
I do have a Christian world view and perhaps I would think differently with an Islamic world view. That said, after years of questioning, studying and understanding on faith, I don't have comparable knowledge of others. I don't even know if other churches actively promote questioning their faith.

It is a false belief that some body is born Christians, Muslims, Hindu etc. Before all these religions sprang up on earth, what was the religion in which any body is born? There is only one religion, the religion of Love, there is only one caste, the caste of humanity, there is only one god and He is OMNIPRESENT.

Its Gods Grace that He made me know Him. I do not think I belong to a religion, because I love everybody. Though sometimes I see differences in others, they were all created by my God and I want and take God's help to love them as He does.
I know that God is there and Jesus was sent by God, not because I was born a Christian. Though I had felt it could be true, I was not sure, until I saw my prayers answered. And more happened, MY LIFE WAS COMPLETELY CHANGED.
I received God's gift of Holy Spirit just as Jesus had told which is written in the bible. I was surprised because I knew that though Jesus was there before 2000 years, whatever He said was so true.
Please see this link to see the change in my life which I had briefed... www.protectinghands.com/new

My parents are Christians, but me I'm Muslim. I used to be Christian too, but all the negative things said about Islam in the media made me learn about it. The more I learned, the more I saw Islam is the truth.

i think about this alot. if my parents were muslim, i would follow...if they were buddhist, i would be buddhist......
we are trained to be, religiously, what our parents are. i've noticed that most of the time, people are not exposed to any other religion but there own...and those who decide to learn about other religions tend to over indulge and become atheist.
