Im in a fight with one of my friends, it's a bit complicated and this one girl I barely talk to sent me a message saying:

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind.

What does it mean?

So if it means that.. is she trying to say that I have a problem with my friend, so dont be friends with her anymore? or how does it relate with me fighting with my friend? I just dont understand.

But that's the thing, I feel offended by what she has done to me, I think that's the whole reason why i'm fighting with her, that's why this doesnt make sence to me.

"To thine own self be true" is a saying that immediately springs to mind. You have to be true to yourself. If you try to please everyone by only saying what you think they want to hear (and not ruffling any feathers), then eventually, you will become only a mirror -- reflecting everyone else (and flat and empty). Plus, mirrors are pretty superficial; you only see what's on the outside! They don't reflect character and other important qualities (like truthfulness and loyalty, all important in any relationship).
True friends will love you (practically) no matter what. (Everyone has their limit. If you tried to "steal" your good friend's boyfriend, that could be a "deal breaker", as Dr. Phil likes to say!)
If your friend has done something which offends you, it's important to let her know. If you don't, what she did and how you feel about it will interfere with your friendship. She may be totally unaware that she hurt your feelings (and could, unknowingly, do it again).
In any case, YOU know how you feel.
Just because you're honest with her, doesn't necessarily mean that she's overjoyed to hear it. Give her time to "digest" what has happened.
Good luck!

That is kind of confusing because those who mind should be the ones that matter, in reference to friends. Unless it means in the bigger scheme of things, like the whole world instead of your world. I think it means you shouldn't sacrifice yourself for the sake of a friend, because if they really are your friend, they'll accept you for who you are and support you no matter what.

It's just saying you will know who your true friends are.Your true friends ,those who matter to you don't take offence at what you say and the not so true friends ,those who mind what is said , they don't matter.I think the girl who sent you the message is being very wise.

She's basically telling you that if you're offended, rightly or wrongly, if you're a 'friend' you won't worry about it. A bit of a cop out statement actually which I think reads along the lines of 'I don't care about you or what you think and if you don't like what I say...tough'

Basically, give her a wide berth because she's trying to do your mind in and make you feel insecure.

Okay, generally what it means is that you can say what you want to with friends and they are still your friends.

What it REALLY means is that she's not terribly interested in your situation, and would rather you lost interest in it than get interested herself. She's just trying to say something to make you feel better so you'll stop talking about it.

those who mind dont matter

anyone that has a problem with you should not be important to you.

those who matter dont mind

those who you hold dear, who know you, want you to be you, and assess no fault with you being you.
