Lutherans were started by Martin Luther (1517) when he protested against how Catholic traditions differed from the Bible in 95 points. So the first Protestant denomination was the Lutherans.
They are different, but does that make them bad? God has a big enough heart to love us all.

Remember, Luther was one of the first Protestants (those who protested the distortions of Jesus' teachings by the Roman Catholic church), but he kept some of those distortions. For example, both the Roman Catholics and Protestants burned Christians at the stake for owning Bibles in their own languages, for disagreeing with church leaders, etc.
Read your Bible. Ask God to show you what's true and what He wants you to do about it. Ask church leaders also, but then ask God if what they told you is true or just their opinion.
You'll be glad you did.

A denomination does not get you to heaven nor can it save you. Trusting God is a faith on a individual bases. Your relationship with him, not man and his ways in the church. What does the word of God say. None of us are experts, but Jesus is are master only through him can we have perfect peace and know what it is to love and be loved. Rituals come and go but God remains the same.

lutheran church was the 1st protestant church, it was about the protesting of the operations of the catholic church. martin luther was not against roman catholicism, he just wanted to reform it, he saw nothing wrong with roman catholicism. protestantism was about getting the roman catholic church back to more honoest andtraditional practices. i'm not a protestant, i'm not a catholic, i'm a believer in Christ Jesus. i know the roman catholic religion to be against the word of God, as well as protestantism. martin luther [the beginner of the reformation, and founder of protestantism said "Be a sinner and sin mightily, but more mightily believe and rejoice in Christ." this is not a biblical teaching. the bible teaches to REPENT!!!! likewise the roman catholic church teaches
"Let us rejoice then and give thanks that we have become not only Christians, but Christ himself. Marvel and rejoice: we have become Christ." Pg. 210, #795
Wow! Notice that Catholics are not merely Christians, they have become "Christ himself."
"For the Son of man became man so that we might become God." Pg. 116, #460
"The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods." Pg. 116, #460 these quotes come from the roman catholic catechism. but once again it is at odds with the bible "… I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me," Isaiah 46:9
"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." 1 Corinthians 8:6

God can forgive us all he wants. I really could care less that you were appalled by the way we ran it, whatever prompted that.
