Your 'cycle' won't matter a bit to her right now..

She will become very restless and uncomfortable. Her temp will drop approx 12-24hours prior to whelping. She will pant lots and dig at her bedding, she may try getting under a bed or somewhere where it is dark, or even to a hole she has made outside. They will lose a stringy mucous shortly before giving birth. she might not know what to do with the 1st puppy, as it comes as a bit of a shock to them, if she doesn't take any interest in it tear open the sack near the puppies face and rub its nose with your finger, this is normally enough for a puppy to move and mum realizes that its a puppy and will continue to do everything else on her own. I would definitely look up complications during whelp so you are prepared for anything that might go wrong and know when to contact a vet, even if it is in the middle of the night. Don't leave it until the morning as this could be to late for her and her puppies.
Make sure it is nice and warm as puppies will die if too cold.
Take her to the vet after she has finished whelping they will give her a dose of oxytocin and maybe calcium. Ask the vets all about rearing the litter and any extra supplements your girl is going to need while caring for her puppies.
Your fine to be around her.
Good Luck

Hopefully you have prepared a box for her to deliver in.
I cut it down so it is high around the edges and cut a lower place for mom dog to get out.
Put in several layers of newspaper so you can remove what gets dirty. Put in some small towels or wash clothes. Get her aquanted with the place. If she has a favorite toy or blanket put it in there.
If she starts to pant or gets short of breath she most likely is starting labor. Put her in the box. I keep the top part of the box on so she feels she is nesting. Put i a small bowl of water if she gets thirsty. She might get very nippy and snarl at you when she is in active labor.
wich such a small dog you need to be awear that delievery might be difficult and be prepared to get her to the vet if need be.
She will be a wonderful mom. Nature will let her know what to do. If she isn't licking off the sack the baby is in you need to push the puppy near her mouth or you may need to take a cloth and get the sack off. The mom needs to lick the baby so it breaths. You might have to give her alittle help. If one of the puppies doesn't make it, the mom will set it aside and not want you to touch it. Give her some time and then get that baby out of the box.

You and mom will be fine, It is an amazing experience. Enjoy

oh, one more thing. Once the babys are born have one corner of the box with cloth. And the other part of the box, newspapers.

lmao. first of all, you don't get to dictate how many puppies she will have. so you only want one or two.- what will you do with the other four that she whelps? have you shown your dog to a conformation championship? have you had genetic screenings done? do you have a stud lined up that compliments her flaws (no dog is perfect)? do you have several thousands of dollars for vet bills, puppy care, and in case of emergencies? Are you a member of the Pomeranian Club of America and have you signed their breeder code of ethics? Leave the breeding to the pros, honey. If you want a puppy save your pennies and go buy one from a responsible breeder or better yet, rescue one.

Dogs do not have udders.
Why did you breed a dog if you have never had one before?

How do you know for sure she is pregnant? Did your vet tell you? Your vet should have told you what to expect with a pregnant dog. But I'm guessing you don't have a vet, you sound like you don't have a clue about anything dog related.

It is common for chihuahuas to have lots of energy, this is not a sign of labor.

Take her to a vet and have her checked out. Her big belly is probably a sign of worms. And get her spayed.

dogs are generally pregnant for 63-65 days. Prior to whelping (giving birth) they will usually start nesting behavior and their temperature will drop. Normal temps are 100-102.5 degrees farenheit. Before they whelp the temps can drop to 98 degrees or so. most of the time dogs can have the pups on their own, but do your research and know what complications to look for.

if you dont know what to do you might have some major problems.

birth is not easy and natural for dogs as it is for cats.
a breached or stuck puppy can kill the mother and all other pups still inside her.
if she needs a c-section, you will be up for over $1000. if she needs any other type of surgery the price will be about the same.
if you dont recognise that something is wrong and you dont get her to a vet on time, she could die.
you also needs to recognise if there is something wrong with the pups and get them to a vet immediately if needed.

you need to know what to do when things go wrong, and how to keep the pups alive after they are born. for example, rubbing them and making sure they dont choke on their own mucus.

i suggest you start researching really fast. and get your dog spayed so this doesnt happen again.

you need to take the mother to a vet for a checkup - i suggest you drop her at a vets near when she is due and let the vet deal with it. she also needs to be fed puppy food, and more food than usually during pregnancy and after birth so that the milk will be enough for the pups.
if the mother is under 1.5 years old, she will also have potentially have problems - they need to be older than 1.5 years to mate because they are not fully developed yet.

if you do not know all the things that can go wrong, or basic mother care when she is pregnant and during birth, you should never have allowed her to mate - you are risking her life and the pups and you could be up for thousands of dollars.

First of all, good luck, I hope all goes well! Second, giving someone grief without knowing the background of the situation is absurd. You are assuming that it is her fault, perhaps she got the dog already pregnant. Not all people are idiots, but those who go on assuming the worst and bashing someone who is at least taking the initiative to try to become informed, kind of turns the table.

They can normally have pups at around 6 or 8 months old. It really just depends on whether she's ready (has she started going on heat yet?) If she gets pregnant while hooked up with a male - then she's ready. If not - then she isn't ready. Male dogs will know whether or not she is ready.
