Ok I've been dealing with my depression now for a while and I've tried everything I could think of to get out of my depression.

1.) I'm going to counseling and that doesn't get rid of it.

2.) I've picked up smoking cigerates and that doesn't help

3.) I've tryed changing my religion and that doesn't help.

4.) Tried making friends but that always goes wrong with me.

5.) Tried drinking that doesn't help.

6.) Tried writing down the way I feel in a note book but I always feel awful even if I do.

7.) Tried weed but I still felt like crap even when I was doing it so I don't do that anymore.

8.) Tried making pretend friends for myself I wanted to buy some fake GI joes and they could be my friends and I even wanted to buy a blow up doll and make it my girlfriend so I could have someone to talk to but I'm still depressed.

9.) Tried magic spells and that doesn't work.

The only thing I haven't tried is anti-depressants. What should I do to get over depression?

Dear Antonio, you know the answers, believe in yourself, your ability's and the love you have for your family. Why have you not gotten yourself onto the anti-depressants especially now that you realise alternatives are not working for you. Good luck my friend.

Find your purpose.
Use guided meditation.
Run.
Do things for others unexpectedly. When someone is grateful for your help, that is the best anti depressive there is.
Go out for walks. Let your eyes rest.
Be good to others.
How can one be depressed when everyone you know says that you are the kindest gentlest, most thoughtful, most gracious fun person that ever walked on the earth?
Make it good for others and you can then appreciate your own lot.
Go help the Katrina victims, or in the abuse or animal shelter until you drop from exhaustion.
Anyone could have told you that drinking does not drowned anything but you, or that cigarettes are not going to burn up your problems.
Go look at other peoples problems and then try to help. Like the Habitat for humanity.
Go change the world, a little at a time. Don't think that, because you can't do everything, that you are doing nothing.
Sometimes one needs anti depression pills. That does not mean that you are flawed.
Be pro-active. I know it is hard if you are depressed. Have someone close help you. They won't help if they see that you are doing nothing possitive yourself.

You are very creative and have put a lot of energy into feeling better. The only thing I can say is that if you put that creative energy to work for you, I think you could come up with some great artwork or poetry or music or something, which would help with the depression , perhaps. Sometimes it doesn't but it can. Try the medications. There are so many out there, if you don't like one, try another and another until you find one you can live with. You also could try something like simple exercise-walking is the best. Even just strolling along looking at things helps.

Good luck. You deserve to feel better. I have never heard of anyone trying so hard. It's admirable.

the thing is ur trying too hard but it seems u dont really want to stop being depressed b/c to stop being deppressed is too really want to stop being depressed if u really wanted to stop then whenever u did something to get ur mind off of it, it would work (just continue doing what ur doing exept the drugs cuz that dosent help) and whatever u do has to be something u enjoy doing try new things do whatever makes u feel good, try talking to someome about it sometimes talking to other people that dont know u is better than talking to ur friends because they wont judge u or they wont make fun of u they could actually help. just get out there live life cuz every minute u spend being sad is a minute of ur life u just wasted and u cant get it back just live every minute every moment like it was ur last theres no time to be sad u should look at all the positive things about ur live, everyone has ups and downs but nobody stays down everithing will get better :)

In all of you searching you didn't find out how depression is made. Then you would at least have a target. Depression come from a chemical that is released from removing wrong expectations for life. This chemical affects the lower brain that controls the vital signs of air, blood pressure and temperature and balance. It takes a long time to clean the spinal fluid .

Have you tried meditation?
If you're into curing yourself...try http://www.CureDrive.org
they help you to learn how to cure yourself of just about anything you can think of.
If you like to read, here are two books I would recommend:
1) the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron...helps you to better understand yourself.
2) the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
You've taken an important step...acknowledging your need for help. When you try something new like the writing, it's going to feel bad at first but it will get better. It is your choice to live your life to your fullest, looking forward to each day as you face the wonder of it or ...
Wishing the best for you, M

maybe going outside to get sunlight on your head. maybe replacing your counselor with a psychotherapist. Seeing a psychiatrist would help, and if you are very against medication, you could at least take them for a while to get out of this rut, right? Talk with the therapist about self soothing and self care, find some hobbies or a subject you might like to go back to school. Get some color in your wardrobe and decorations

There are many things you haven't tried yet, like the multi pronged approach at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2: depression treatments/resources. Read the whole page, and note the tips at the mental-health-abc and conquering stress websites, then practise one of the 5 relaxation techniques.

what religion did you convert to? there is only one God. Smoking makes it worse. did you switch doctors or at least get a 2nd opinion. drinking definatly does not help infact that is one of the core roots of depression. weed increases what you feel especially if you are alone. Magic spells are of the devil and he hates you.

no, as far as buying fake friends. how are they suppost to make you feel better. you need to talk to someone with a responce.. how do you feel when you talk to a friend who has no opinion and does no respond (I am talking about a human) they make you feel unimportant right? then why let a GI Jo do it.

It sounds like you have a God shaped hole in your heart and His name is Jesus Christ. you do not need a church to find Him. infact I believe that most churches chase you away from Him.

Give Him a shot: say this prayer and mean it truly.

Dear God,
I believe you love me and that Jesus Christ came as Your gift, dying on the cross and rising for me. I confess my faults and failures; I ask You to forgive my sins. I now ask Jesus to come into my life as my Lord and Savior. I accept His promise of eternal life. Help me live for Christ alone from this day.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
