There are no brands of Christians. The only mention of the word in scripture is in Acts where we are told they were first called Christians in Antioch.
Every real Christian has all the following:
1. Sorrow for sin
2. Repentant heart
3. Salvation through Christ and Christ alone
4. An ongoing second by second relationship with Christ
5. Growing pains
6. Confidence in God
7. A fear of God as well as a love of God
8. A desire to see others saved
9. A positive confidence that they will live forever with God on earth. -- See Revelation - the new earth - new Jerusalem
10. So much more than any of us know - "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those that love Him."

I am a Christian. I am certainly not fundamentalist. I have many beliefs that differ with those of fundamentatlist Christianity. I do not disagree with the theory of evolution, and I do believe that God can easily use evolution as a form of creation. I focus more on the being behind creation rather than the process. I accept that the BIble has flaws and isn't a perfect document. I believe that God is perfect, but the BIble isn't. My faith doesn't have to have a perfect book in order to work. I love my Lord very much, and I owe my very life to him. I am not conservative in my views of my faith, but that doesn't make me any less of a Christian just as you are not any more of a Christian because you DO hold those views.

I am a born again Christian who believes the Bible is the inerrant word of God, yes. Unfortunately fundamentalist has gotten a bad rap today by people. I went to a church that become totally legalistic when a "fundamentalist" preacher came. If by fundamental you mean that I believe in Jesus as the only way to heaven, absolutely!!

I attend a Southern Baptist church, was lead to the Lord by a fundamentalist Baptist preacher, and I guess I'm somewhere in between. I think the Southern Baptist can be too liberated sometimes, and the fundamentalist seem too legalistic. But in my faith, the Bible is the final Word on my beliefs.

Only one kind of Christian
accepted Jesus as savior
redeemed by Jesus' blood (shed on the cross)
Sin is sin (God hasn't dropped any from the list)
prayer works
love and help poor,widows,lonely
warn the lost
bible is God's Word (not for private interpretation)
christians are forgiven not perfect
God is not impressed with any man's creditials (only a heart for Him).If some denies Him He is faithful He cannot deny Himself.Jesus is Lord.
If that makes me a Happy Fundie (then yes I am).

I hope that you undestand that Fundamentalist Christian here and many other places means that you are what's referred to as 'self righteous' with the word 'bigot' added commonly.
I am a christian, if I had to pick another word to describe which kind I'd say 'Protestant', and if I had to go further, I'd say 'Reformed' and if I still had to go further, I'd say 'Paulinist'.
