1st Timothy 3-2 where it says an overseer (which means also in old language pastor, minister, bishop, deacon) must be the husband of one wife. Any women pastor that contradicts the Bible and says man made it up should know that God is Almighty and would not allow man (nor woman in that sake) take his Word away from him. If you don't believe that, then you don't believe God is Divine. Other is Paul in 1st Corinthians 14 clearly explaining that women should be silent in church. I believe men and women are equal, but I do NOT believe that women should be pastors. Paul explains it, and if you even think about scientifically, the man is automatically the leader of the household (or at least should be). Please no rude remarks, if you don't like what I wrote, just press the X button in the top hand corner of your screen or the back button, but it's truly hard for me to understand how people can justify THE BIBLE and especially them being a pastor. Any explanations or comments?

Simple - they either just gloss over it or misinterpret it, according to their adherence to the liberal agenda that is practiced instead.

How DISGUSTING that a bunch of sissfied men should be sitting there, listening to some woman cackle and preach.

Don't listen to the poster directly below. She has no understanding that men and women are not "equal" in terms of ALWAYS having the same roles and responsibilities in life, which may vary at times, but DO remain equal in terms of importance.

I am a fundalmental Christian and i believe that women can make good Pastors. To understand 1 Cor. 14, we need to know what was going on in the Church. Back in those days, women and men sat on opposite sides of the Church. Women were interupting the Church by asking their husbands questions while someone was speaking. Nothing more and nothing less. If you read other letters from Paul, you will notice that he compells others to take care of the women Prophetesses. A woman must be able to speak in the Church, if she holds this very important and high office. Also God has revealed Himself to Woman also. They were the first to see Jesus after He was resurrected. I know quite a few Christians who believe the same way that you do and I find that they are missing out on a lot when they limit God on what He can and can not do. God can use Woman in very special ways, especailly as Teachers. My wife makes a good Teacher, one of the Five Fold Ministries. She has taught many Children into becoming good Christians. I use to be the president of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International in Milwaukee County. We had more women than men in our group for a while. One of my members got all upset when I had a woman Pastor speak at one of our meetings. He refused to come anymore because of it. He ended up having such a critical mind, he is now suffering incurable depression and I believe that it has come from judging other people too harhly. I suggest to you to move on and worry about yourself and let God do what He wants through others.

If you read down further it also says a women should be the wife of one man. If you read the hebrew version it explained why the women should be silent in those days because the Corinthian church worshiped Gods of women and the women had very much say in the beliefs and acts in the church of that day. It was a lot of sexual acts that women and men practiced in the church at that time, that was forbiddened and brought to the attention of Paul and he addressed it. The man is still the head of the household only if he is a believer and follow the word of God he is to love his wife as he loves his own flesh, women or not to be abused or taken advantaged of,they are the weaker vessel. Jesus had many followers and he was revealed to a woman first when he arose from the dead and the woman told the others about him being raised from the dead. The samaritian women told the village people come and see a man that knows everything I did, they believed her story and came to see Jesus and he stayed with them for at least 2-3 days. They said now we do not believe him because of what you said, but for what we have seen and heard. Women go through things as well as men, that is just like saying a women should not testify about what God has done because she is forbidden to speak in the church, that is not true in all circumstances. In Acts the women and the men joined together in prayers and praise to God and the spirit came on all. Mary sat at Jesus feet and Martha was in the kitchen, she said have her help me, Jesus said Mary you worry about things in so many words, but Mary have choosen the better part. Jesus paved the way for women and if you read the word of God and not be so closed minded maybe you would be more open to the things of God.Of course men dominate the church arena, but do not count a sister out.

There is also the verse that says: I do not permit a woman to teach, or exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence, 1 Timothy 2:12. Also read 1 Timothy 2:11-14. Women should not be preachers in the congregation to be upholding God's word. Instead, it is as it says in 2 Timothy 4:3, For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled. Women are not permitted by God to teach in the congregation as it was Eve who was deceived, not Adam. And just as God made the arrangement, God is the head of Christ, Christ is head of the congregation, man is head of the woman, there is no other arrangement. It's just like when Eve was deceived, women still want their independence to choose what they want, even over God, no difference. And anybody disagreeing with God's arrangement is not of God.

Crystall..., never say that he is a mysoginist. If you are an atheist, back off; you have nothing to do with the matters of the church. This is a pertinent question.

Man, I can't answer you for the moment. I will try and see.

Crystall..., that is your judgement. Let me tell you now that the Bible does not say anywhere that a woman is mean to the man.

My comment would be that if you do not want to attend a church that allows women to be pastors or church leaders - then don't. It's that simple. No one *owes* you an explanation. Worship as you wish, and allow others to do the same.

Sorry, never got past your first line...
How does women preachers....

It would be, "How do women preachers...." proving the point, the least intelligent among us can't even speak our language....
My sympathies to you, hon.

Now what was your problem, hon? That god said, and Paul said, and Corinthians said, and...

Hon, the bible is a set of stories of a tribe of starving stone age shepherds, not much different than the folklore of the Navajo, or Pawnee, and just about as truthful....

Scientifically???? LMFAO Men were hunter gatherers (due to their physical nature) b4 technology changed that. Women basically took care of everything else. And if you really want to break it down.....all males start out as female until the 'y' chromosone enters the mix. Women are just as capable and sometimes more capable then men and visa-versa. It should always be the best PERSON for the job....and not based on what they have between their legs!!!!!!!!!! 8o) Regardless of deadmens words supposedly written in the name of a diety(s)....be it monotheistic or polytheistic in origin.

J. Vernon McGee once said something along these lines:
If there isn't a man to preach, then a woman had better take that job.

"God is Almighty and would not allow man (nor woman in that sake) take his Word away from him."

Didn't he when he allowed human scribes to write it? He could have just sent it down, right? It's not like he needed them.
