wavy hair products work?

I have thick, brown,natural semi wavy hair. My hair is not very wavy but it is wavy enough to be classified not as straight, but wavy, (you can still mistake my hair for straight)
Now my question is: will all those products meant to define wavey hair work if my hair doesnt have lots of natural waves? (im specifically thinking of this John Frieda "Brillint Brunette" product.
