The year is 2208 and aliens visit Earth. They are very advanced, yet easily offended.

If you KNEW with absolute certainty that they would be so offended by your belief system and the more than occasional air of condescension that often comes with its presentation to non-believers that they would exterminate every Human on the planet, would you "disobey" the Bible (since we already do that by not keeping slaves and plant two different crops side by side)

Or would you speak up and condemn billions of men, women and children to death so you could feel that you did the right thing?

Quote: If the Aliens taught Creationism in public schools as a fact, would you risk telling them it is a myth if they would consequently kill every human?

Interesting, but that's not the question, is it?

I'll answer the above quoted question actually

Would I? No. Absolutely not.

Why? Because the lives of billions of people matter more than stating what I KNOW to be true. I know it to be true to the same extent that the faithful KNOWS Jesus is lord.

I would never be so presumptuous as to decide your fates for you.

The fact that some of you here have stated that you would is what frightens some people about your beliefs: nothing else seems to matter to you...not even billions upon billions of souls whose lives hinge on whether you can keep quiet.

Speading the faith is not a one time thing. It comes from relationships. So I would build relationships with them first. Since when does it say in the bible that spreading the faith has to be done immediately. We have had 2000 years there is no reason why God would not give us 2000 more.

I as a Christian belive that I should "spread" my faith by living it. I do not bring it up unless people ask, yet everyday I make decisions based on my beliefs. People see these decisions, and so are exposed to the Christian lifestyle. I would probibly do the same in this case. If they asked I would have to warn them that the answer may not be what they want to hear, but in truth Christianity is not condesending at all. Just the people who shove it in your face are. Also the laws that you brought up were listed in the old testement. Christ came to wipe away those old laws, so that while they are giudlines to live by they are no longer "laws". That is the point of Christianity.

condescension and presenting truth isnt the same thing. Truth, by definition is exclusive and absolute. when you present the truth, people get offended because they dont align with it. its not a question of my religion, your religion. truth is truth, no matter what. The whole thing is to presnt it in a graceful and kind, and tactful way, but not sugarcoating it. my question is, why are you so concerned about this? its a waste of time wondering so much about the hypothetical rather than the present.

What?! I actually feel for you right now, because I don't think you have understanding of what it really means to be a Christian. It's not about abiding by a certain set of rules and making sure I do the right thing for ME...a true Christian tries their best to show God's love to everyone. I wouldn't jump up and immediately reveal something just to "feel I did the right thing," but I would also never deny my Saviour because "it's not about me, but all about Him."

Evil does not exist. Does chilly exist? No, chilly is the ABSENCE of warm temperature, chilly is only a be conscious we use to describe the absence of warm temperature. we gained't degree chilly. warmth is capacity. Does darkness exist? No, darkness is the ABSENCE of sunshine, you may have low gentle, time-honored gentle, shiny gentle, flashing gentle. yet once you've not any gentle continually, you've not something and that is suggested as darkness, darkness is only a be conscious we use to describe the absence of sunshine. Does evil exist? No, evil does not exist, similar to chilly and darkness, evil is the ABSENCE of GOD, a be conscious that guy created to describe the absence of God, evil is compared to faith, or love that exist merely as does gentle and warm temperature You argue there is existence and then there is lack of existence, a superior GOD and a foul GOD. you're viewing the idea of GOD as something finite, something we can degree. technological expertise can’t even clarify a theory. It makes use of electrical energy and magnetism, yet hasn't ever considered, a lot less totally understood both one. To view lack of existence because the different of existence is to be unaware of the very shown reality that lack of existence can't exist as a significant element. lack of existence isn't the different of existence: merely the absence of it. The link between guy and GOD is faith. it really is all that keeps issues alive and shifting.

There is such as slaves still. A slave means that you don't work for money, but you do get food, lodging and privileges out of it.

The crops law comes from the Jewish law.

As for offence, Ecclesiastes 7:9 says: "Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offence is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones."

Christians are supposed to be demolishing arguments and pretensions. 2 Corinthians 10:5 - "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

For example, agoraphobia means fear of market places or public places. There are approximately four ways of managing phobias - avoidance, escape (having another look-see to feel good about getting out again), enduring discomfort, and holding tightly to people, objects or ideas. Have you ever noticed how often people start the sentences with "you", "he", "she", or "they" in public? It's like talking about other people is the way to get around. I think that agoraphobia is really criminal turf wars. You're trying to portray the image that you're no threat because you're not even thinking of yourself anyway. You're only looking out for others.

I fail to see how it would be anybody's fault if aliens who could exterminate everybody on the planet decided to stall for time by listening to some religious talk first.

You mention "spreading the faith." Faith is defined at 1 Timothy 1:4 as the opposite to "endless genealogies." Therefore, it means not paying attention to family lineage. I'm guessing that pointing out the apparent similarities in nose shape to the visitors isn't going to assist in getting to know them. In fact, faith is supposed to be practised, not just preached. I'm going to ignore your "KNEW" because I'm not an alien and I don't know that.

Where did you get the idea of these aliens who would exterminate everybody based on one person's actions?

Naughty, naughty! That's a "loaded question", and I love it.

Its a bit like asking "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"

Doesn't matter WHAT the answer is, you've convicted yourself.

Keep up the good work - enlightening!
