If you have braces now, when they are removed the orthodontist will take a panoramic xray (you stand in the machine and it goes around your head - you've already had one prior to the braces). That xray will help the orthodontist and your regular dentist make that decision. There are different schools of thought on wisdom teeth - one says they will move your other teeth and the other says that they won't. Good news for you is if your wisdoms are already emerging they will probably be easier to remove. Not everyone needs them removed, but I can tell you as a dental hygienist that they can cause some pretty ugly gum infections and often end up with cavities because you can't clean them very well. Usually the upper wisdoms are easy to remove because of their ice cream cone shaped roots. Good luck!

PS. I had 5 teeth out (3 wisdoms, 2 premolars) while awake numb with gas to relax and went home feeling fine. I also didn't have any swelling or bruising. So don't believe every horror story you hear!

The best way to tell is to visit the dentist. They can do xrays and see if keeping those teeth can move your straight teeth to crooked.I would def check before making a decision yourself. You don't want to take off your braces only to have ur teeth moved because of them. Good luck!

My dentist told me that unless you notice a lot of pressure or your teeth are in pain, you should be fine. My two back wisdom teeth are in and I just get regular check ups, I've had them for 8 years, I don't even notice them anymore. You should be fine as long as you don't have pain.

You are going to have to go to a dentist, he is the only one that would be able to tell you that. Most people get them taken out becuase your mouth will be overcrowded, or cuase some other problems. If your bottom two are not bothering you, you may be ok. However, don't forget you have two on top. I would definetely talk to your dentist and see what they say.

not necessarily. some people have enough room in there mouths for wisdom teeth. if you do have to have them removed, the younger u r the better because the roots may not have fully developed. good luck.

It depends on your teeth, considering you had to get braces then your dentist my advise you to get them out. Mine were impacted and while i was at a routine dentist appointment she told me i need to have them removed before they give me problems.
