Starving to death; suffering a slow, painful death by cancer; death by flesh eating bacteria; being burned to death; death by nuclear catastrophe; being impaled; being eaten alive by a cannibal; being buried in sand up to your neck on the beach and drowning with the tide comes in; falling into the blades of a helicopter; being tortured, raped, and disemboweled; being put through a giant meat grinder; having your head squashed in a vice, etc...

Many. Dying of dehydration would certainly be more painful than crucifixion. Likewise being bled to death over a period of days. Being shot in the stomach and dying from internal bleeding would be quite painful. Dying of pneumonia would be a lot like drowning in your own bodily fluids over a period of several days. Being slowly roasted over an open fire would most likely be worse than crucifixion. Being "broken on a wheel", (exactly what the name implies) an old German method of torture and execution would be worse than crucifixion. Dying of hunger can be quite painful. Septicemia, disembowelment, gangrene, I could go on, but I don't think I need to.

Perhaps being starved to death and worked to death on the Burma Railway as a prisoner of the Jananese in WW2?

Perhaps what they did to William Wallace (did you see "Braveheart with Mel Gibson), I think he was "drawn and quartered"( had his bowels pulled out and dragged along the roadway behind a horse whilst he was still alive).

And so what? Even your very own Bible cannot confirm that Jesus was actually crucified. Paul says he was "hanged on a gibbet", Peter says he was "hanged on a tree". Even the resurrection bit was "added in" a few years later when they had a chance to think about their story and make up a few more details. The Gospel of Mark originally ended with finding an empty tomb, but that NOT gunna stop a good story, is it?

You asked a simple question, I gave a simple answer - are you now going to wish me an eternal damnation?

A relative of mine got mangled by farm machinery. Lived long enough to endure horrifying pain and multiple amputations that were done at home without anesthetic. I don't know if that's up there with crucifixion, but it's pretty darn bad. Also burning alive, scalding to death, being eaten alive, and evisceration would have to be seriously bad.

first Jesus never been kill or crucified . (156) And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the messenger of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. (157) Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty, Wise. (158) And there is not one of the followers of the Book but most certainly believes in this before his death, and on the day of resurrection he (Isa) shall be a witness against them بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم When the sun is covered, (1) And when the stars darken, (2) And when the mountains are made to pass away, (3) And when the camels are left untended, (4) And when the wild animals are made to go forth, (5) And when the seas are set on fire, (6) And when souls are united, (7) And when the female infant buried alive is asked (8) For what sin she was killed, (9) And when the books are spread, (10) And when the heaven has its covering removed, (11) And when the hell is kindled up, (12) And when the garden is brought nigh, (13) Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. (14) But nay! I swear by the stars, (15) That run their course (and) hide themselves, (16) And the night when it departs, (17) And the morning when it brightens, (18) Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, (19) The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, (20) One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. (21) And your companion is not gone mad. (22) And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. (23) Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. (24) Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, (25) Whither then will you go? (26) It is naught but a reminder for the nations, (27) For him among you who pleases to go straight. (28) And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. (29)

Burning at the stake! Being tied to a tree and having all your shin torn of slowly piece by piece. There are many ways equally if not worse. Man can be so ugly when evil prevails.

There is nothing worse that the Crucifixion, which Jesus suffered for all, that is why we must offer up our sufferings form Him.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary were very hard as well. It is said, that if the sorrows of Mary were equally divided to each man, that all would be dead. She lived by the Graces of Jesus Christ.

Actually, yes - watching some of those criminal investigation shows on TV gave me some glimpses at even more painful ways to die. (Not to say crucifixion would be pleasant.)

There was one show where the killer would amputate the limbs of the victim one at a time, cauterizing the stumps as he went along, so the person was well aware of each limb being removed. That would seem pretty hideous to me.

I cannot believe some of these answers. I know that people do die horrible deaths, but have you ever read a doctors description about how a person dies on a cross? It is the most horrendous and painful experience. My Jesus died that death for me, I deserved to have those nails in my hands and feet, not him- I deserved to gasp for breathe for hours with pain, but He did so that I did not have to die that painful death.

I think the most horrible deaths are the ones you have to suffer at the hands of some phsycopath. I would rather be crucified for a cause then killed for someone else's pleasure.
