Honest opinion: I think tattoos and piercings seem like fun when you are young. But later on when you get older, you will realize that it wasn't such a great idea. I remember when I was 14 years old, I really wanted to get my nose pierced and dye my hair electric blue. My mother said "NO WAY!" I'm 30 now and I'm a mother to 2 children. I am really happy that I never pierced my nose. A nose piercing is not such a big deal in the body modification world. I can't even imagine the regret that I would have felt if I had done something non-reversible like getting a tattoo or gauging my earlobes. The tattoo I would have chosen at a young age would never be my taste now. I also feel like there would never be a symbol or word I thought was so important that it should be permanently etched into my skin. I can always draw it on a piece of paper or get it engraved on a piece of jewelry. I personally like my body, tattoo-free and piercing-free. That way there will never be any regrets. You never hear of someone saying that they regretted not getting a tattoo.

It's your body, and you can do with it what you please. Aside from that, I think only about one out of a thousand tattoos, or less actually make the owner more attractive then they would be without them. Mostly, they're tacky. If you're planning on being in ANY professional trade, they'll be something of a liability, most of the time.
If a woman gets just the right one with the right flow, say, on the small of her back, it can be quite sexy, but that's about the only exception.
Also, are you really, REALLY certain that you'll still like that tattoo, in 20 years, when the ink is all faded, and blurry. Are you sure that the image you're selecting is one that you'll still believe in? It has to be a pretty strong image that is almost embedded in your very soul to qualify as something that needs to be engraved into your own living flesh. What if you change your mind about whatever "statement" you were trying to make with it, five years down the road? What if, say, for example, you decide, next week, that you're a latent republican. Now you've got that embarrassing tat of Bill O'Reilly's bloody, severed head on a pike, all across your back, and you're supposed to go to the Young Oppressor's Summer Beach Blowout, next Tuesday! What are you gonna do?
Just get a henna tattoo every few weeks. If you don't like it, a month from now, it'll go away. If you like it, you can get it redone until you don't like it, anymore.

'Everyone' doesn't have an opinion.
The good news: I do!!
I love them. They are a form of self expression. I will say though, that there is a point where it becomes tacky.
Tacky is also a matter of opinion.
I think the best tattoos are ones that the wearer creates or designs them selves. People who walk into a tattoo parlor and point to something on the wall are much more likely to regret it later, i'm sure. I have two tattoos..and another on the way!! ;))
Piercings are cool too. I think that they are pretty sexy on anybody, as long as they aren't excessive. I have 12, but you can only see 6- which are all in my ears.

tattoos are awful. 1 very small cute tattoo with meaning or something, i mean small like the size of a quarter and out of sight is OK. piercings are for women only. only 1 or 2 on the ears. I guess a pierced nipple would be OK but i would prefer not. The nose is nasty, lips are nasty, eyebrow looks stupid and any piercings below the belt are absolutely nasty.

I have 3 tattoos & now that I'm older & a parent I wish that I hadn't done it. Especially since I only have one of my two childrens name on me & don't plan on anymore tattoo. I find it attractive on men but when I see other women tattoo it make me regret mine because its not sexy, especially on the neck, hands, wrist, knuckles. I don't have any piercing but in my opinion its not cute especially on the lip. I know its a double standard but I don't want to see a man completely tattoo one or two but thats it! What is really gross is when women get them on there breast & they start sagging & have strecth, marks. Please don't do that you won't be sitting up forever!

I'm happy with the way I look naturally, I don't need dike accesories so skank me out. Maybe a small tattoo someplace that can be covered up if wanting to go out formal without it sticking out like a sore thumb, maybe ears pierced, but the rest is discusting. Nothing grosser than a pierced tongue, lip, and eyebrow. Shame people think they're that unattractive to have to go to that extreme for attention.Tattoos and piercings other than the ears are trashy. Belly buttons are just gross. Who the hell wants to be attracted to a hole in your gut where your Momma used to be attatched? Belly shirts are nasty and trashy right along with it. It says "Hey, look at me in my old clothes I had when I was 8!" yuk, trashy. Cover your belly and gain some class and style, instead of looking cheap with it showing a a piece of jewerly shoved through it!

i only like ear piercings honestly...tattoos are a no for me...belly piercings look cute but get infected easily. just ask yourself: are you going to want a tattoo when your 80? or even 30? its just a stamp of wildness and immaturity, which may be cool now but not so hot later on in life. that is just my opinion though. if you feel like a tattoo will really help exress you then go for it!

Im addicted to both. All of mine are in places where I can show them off, or hide them, depending on what I am doing - for instance, I hide them at work - the hospital wouldnt like them showing - and my piercings are tastefully done, with only my ears and nose showing. The rest are hidden.

I think that you should look to the future. I mean that in 50 yrs how many wrinkly people are going to sag flowers and gang signs all the way to their toes. I don't find anything pleasing in a visible tattoo, but i guess its kind of the reason why you are getting one.
