I just got a speeding ticket on the USAFA in Colorado. The officer did not fill out my court date information. What do I do? I can't find any information about who to contact, nor where to go in terms of appearance. Would this be grounds for dismissal?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

You fail to mention what kind of ticket you got.
A D.O.D. traffic citation 1408, is not enforceable outside the gates of the base. You need to call base police to find out when they have traffic court. This will not affect your insurance, it only affects on base driving privilege.

A Federal Traffic Citation 1805, Will come with an envelope and a stamp with the address of Federal Traffic Enforcement to mail your fine, if you wish to contest this ticket call base police and they will give you a number to call where you can get a court date. This ticket is enforceable and can come with a fine, and be annotated on your driving record. This will affect your insurance. If you contest this ticket you will go before a federal magistrate.

I do not know how Colorado do thier tickets or if ones on a AF base is differnet, but it is commom in many places for a ticket to be issues without a date, and they just expect you to send it in with the fine, or go by the clerk and pay the fine. I those areas, if you contest the ticket, you get a court date then. so you go to the department that issues the ticket, or the court listed on the ticket and ask thier clerk.

If you are actrive duty, you'll be getting a call from your 1st Sgt or your supervisor to discuss your ticket. Most bases don't charge fines, but do take points. But, there is no court date... it's all handled through the chain of command in your squadron. And if you are a spouse or a dependant, the active duty person will hear about it and it won't be pretty!

in case you the place on base then specific that's their jurisdiction. they are able to and supply you a value tag, you the place breaking a site visitors rules on base. next time you bypass throughout the gate you're able to desire to study the signs and indicators outdoors of it. They for sure state which you at the instant are entering into federal property and are below their jurisdiction. basically pay the cost tag and end whining, you the place rushing and deserved the cost tag You being a civilian has no longer something to do with the certainly project. As for the MP's combating human beings off positioned up and giving tickets. They do this in the time of a few places. that's a courtisy that they have with the interior sight PD and that they are able to and do supply tickets off positioned up. i've got seen the place they supply up a civilian and phone the interior sight PD to place in writing the certainly cost tag. El Paso/feet Bliss is prevalent for this. As to Harpy the civilians will do an identical element while you're going 5 miles over on the city streets. Be grateful that they supply that grace miliage because of the fact there are places the place while you're one over they cost tag you.

Completely ignore both the ticket and the above advice. Put the ticket in a place of safe keeping and wait for the courts to make the next move. If they call you in, bring the undated ticket and accept any punishment they demand for the speeding ticket, only.

You'll most likely get a correction notice in the mail with the proper court date on it. But unfortunately no, this is not grounds for dismissal.

If you received a citation on the base, that's government property. Check with the Air Police. Are you sure you were on the base?.
