Maybe you lack Jesus Christ in your life and he is the giver of peace of mind.try him today and all your worries will be gone.
Just close your eyes and ask him to come into your life and he will take over from there

It's not usually unusual for a person to get the blues from time to time--

You mentioned that you work long hours---at times when the human body is over worked, over stimulated and or sleep deprived the moods can become irradic.

If your diet is poor and you lack physcial exercise, these other variables will also bring your mood down even further when you are over-worked and or sleep deprived--

You sound like a pretty normal--balanced person who tends to look on the bright side, and enjoys the work and family life.

Try to do all of the regular 'ABCs' for good nutrition, sleep and vitamins -- Also sit down and write down all of the wonderful things that you are grateful for and tell yourself that you are derserving of these things. Write down all of the things you love about yourself included.

Every day when you wake up-- Start out your day and give thanks for all of the things that you are grateful for. Think of events and people that bring you HAPPY THOUGHTS AND ALSO ARE FUN AND FUNNY--humor can cure--laughter is a fabulous combator of the BLUES--- continually tell yourself that you are well and happy-- and believe it--- Remember thinking positive and feeling it positive in your heart stimulates the law of attraction---& more good thoughts will be generated. "What a man thinks about, comes about"--Budda

IF after you have done all of the above, from diet, exercise, eating right and less work and more play AND YOU'RE STILL 'BLUE'-- then visit with someone that you trust: a professional counselor, M.D. type.

DRUGS are not usually the answer-- and if you have not had any traumatic stress such as a death, or radical shift in your environment at work and or at home--- usually drugs are not the answer for your emotional problem---AND you never said that this had happened to you before in the past--so, I would NOT be so sure to just immediately see that an MD counselor, psych.-type person would just immediately diagnose drugs for your problem.

I am hopeful that with your loving attitude towards how grateful you are for all of the blessings in your life that you will be feeling your best soon--just by doing the simple things such as diet, rest, exercise and more play time with the one's you love.

Here's to you getting back to your cheerful self soon--
Sincerely, Tina

yes I do. you need a break! and spend full time with your family or alone and do what YOU want. (not work) hobbies, go to dinner, whatever and it is important to get fresh air and exercise. that is a big factor in depression when you do not use this. God did not make it so all we did was work.
