There's one station a couple blocks from my house in Northern California were the price is over $4/gallon. Yes, it's the most expensive in town. Everyone else is about $.30 less per gallon.

Be careful about comparing gas prices in Cali and outside of Cali. CARB (California Air Resources Board) holds Cali gas to higher environmental standards compared to the rest of the US.
The Cali gas is more difficult/expensive to make, and there are very few imports from other states and countries to make up for the growing demand.

Really?
I just paid $2.89 and that was at the cheapest place anywhere near where I live. Mostly it's around $2.92... and apparently it's worse in lot of places.
