can a computer with windows 95 on it. be upgraded with a windows xp upgrade os disk

Usually not, no.

Windows XP requires more computing power than computers HAD in '95. RAM, Hard Drives, and CPU's (processors ) have all gotten bigger and more powerful in the past 12 years.

It's kinda like trying to mount a modern jet engine in a WWI bi-plane. You might get it to fit, but you would shake it apart in just a few minutes...

Yes, I believe Windows XP Home supports upgrading Windows 95.

I doubt it. I was unable to upgrade my Pentium III with Win98. Here is the WindowsXP Advisor. Run it and it will tell you whether or not your PC can be upgraded.
