as I believe it said in the bible, god has known us from the womb, he creates us all.

So, if god created us, he gave me a mind that in no way without proof, could ever ever believe in him.

Its not a choice to me, I can say I believe. Deep down inside, I won't be able to, unless he came to me and actually proved he was god.

So, IF god was real, he would know that he created me with a mind that could never truly believe in him or his son without proof... IF god was real, he created me so I would go to hell when I died without a real choice in the matter.

IF god was real, atheists like me wouldn't exist.

if you're going to say this is poor logic, explain how it is? I cannot believe in god because someone tells me to. If he is real, he made me this way.

Kenneth -

its quite easy to see why someone believes in god when they say something like "The sun doesn't crash into us" Look at the size of the sun compared to the earth sometime.

I thought of this myself. To a Chistian, however, EVERYTHING is a choice. God supposedly gave us free will, the ability to choose for ourselves. People aren't inherently anything. For example, most Christians think homosexuals can be cured by therapy...which is a load of bs in my honest opinion, but America is a free country and people have the right to formulate their own opinions.

Edit: Cured by cancer...haha. I meant therapy. ;)

There was once a man who was a steadfast Athiest, not only did he not believe in God he pretty much hated Him. He went around teaching lititure and Scrince telling Christians that they were wrong. He lived this way for 25 years. One day, God entered into his heart. He didn't speak in an audible voice, but he let the man feel His presence. This gave the man doubt, buy the end of the night, the man accpeted God and Jesus for what they were. This man later became an author of many books including the Chronicals or Narnia.

God did know you in the womb, and he loves you. You are right though, you can't believe in what you don't feel based on what other people tell you. Just for an experiment ask God to revele Himself to you, ask Him to let Him be known, but be willing for the answer.

As far as the flaw in logic? God did not put you on the Earth to go to H***, He put you here for several hundred reasons, many of them is to serve Him, but until you understand, He understands as well.

Yes you would exist, because My God Is a God of FREE WILL, He presents the Truth through the Bible and You and I have the choice of Believing it or not!
Unfortunately, If God is real than Satan is real. The Bible said that SATAN BLINDS THE EYES OF THE NON BELIEVERS

So for Century's Fake Christians, and non believers have used the Bible to promote Prejudice , War, Segregation, and HATE That is NOT what God or Jesus advocated, ever. But False Christians have twisted the truth to fit their evil, Satan inspired needs. GREED being the biggest need!

I believe that God exists. And it ends at that. I respect people who don't see things as I do. And the only thing I can say to you is: An eye for an eye would make this world go blind- all of us would be blinded by hate, injustice and prejudices. To provoke is to invite danger, and injury. You injure yourself and others by being outspoken but unrespectful. But if injury pleases you, you're forgetting and ignoring that part of you which is good, even if you do or do not believe in God. Sometimes a blind person can see better with his heart, twice as humble and more giving.

wait a minute- so now we have people who actually say that God does not exist because of atheism? You said it is not a choice? God Himself said that some will believe in Him and others won't. That is why there is a heaven and a hell. God does reveal Himself to man. He is seeking us out all the time. It is our choice if we seek Him.

Its all FREE WILL. God created you with it, so you CAN SEE BETTER. You appreciate a lot of life, because of it. So its all up to you. Faith cannot be forced. There are no predestinations. God made you to become what you choose. Honey, I don't really think you were made to go to hell. No was predestined for that. Your time to believe would come...when you least expect and in a way unforseen.

religion makes an Idol out of the Real. puts a face on that which has no face. that which denies the Real removes the face./that which is called God is NO thing ,does nothing and therefore appears to not to be.So. both positions are Wrong because the relative view is false, both pro and con because of P.O.V./ both view look from P.O.V. instead of that which Sees../That which Observes is real, that which is observed is a relative emanation of the Real./// if "you say i know or believe or have faith" then what is missing is the knowledge of that which SEES.///God is Real, all that exist is an emanation of God. God observing emanation from infinite points of view.

Atheists are guys who don't believe in the Lord. You know, just try to look around. The sun doesn't crash on us. The fire over there in the neighborhood doesn't reach us. Oxygen reaches your lungs safely. You are still alive. These are the blessings He gives us. We don't see it cause we get so used to it. You know, it feels great to be in the Lord. I wake up joyful and strong, and I have a place to cast my cares and troubles. And I have a Tower Who will always be with me and protect me in life's storms. God is merciful and He knows you and wants to be with you and all of us in Heaven. He loves you because He created you. There is proof everywhere. Just gotta look closely. God created you for a purpose. He didn't purpose that you become an atheist. He gave us free will. You used it to be an atheist. Then God allowed it because it's free. But you have to know that in everything, there'll be a reaction to that decision. There'll be consequences for what one does. It may be a good deed or a bad deed. Just gotta have faith.

Did you grow up?

As you grew up did you learn new things?

Did your abillity to understand things grow as you did?

You assume that you are a completed work, but the fact that you keep changing tells me you aren't finished yet. God has numbered your days. God has said in the same Bible that His kindness leads you to repentence. (One notable "kindnesses" is giving you time on this planet to discover Him or not.)

Maybe God wants us to understand the incompleteness of life without Him so that we can truly appreciate life with Him.

But it is also true that you can't resist God's will. You will glorify Him by being cast into hell where God displays His amazing power to destroy his enemies. (If you've ever enjoyed an action film, you can understand this kind of glory.) Or you will glorify Him by recieving His adoption, mercy, grace, and love - ie. God will be glorified by the gifts we don't deserve that He showers upon we who believe. (If a stranger has ever helped you when your car broke or something, you can relate to this in some degree.)

For the honest person, belief is not a choice. Either you believe or you do not. It would be totally dishonesty to say that it is a choice. It one were to profess to believe what is not in him to believe, he would be a liar.

This Christian notion of belief being a choice is intellectually dishonest.
