I saw them at the showroom when I went to buy my Azera, they were bigger and nicer looking then I expected. The new Elantra seems like it can compete well with the Civic/Corolla/ Sentra/Cobolt/3 of the world and may even be better then a few of them. If I was shopping in the that price range it would be a hard choice between the Mazda 3 and Hyundai Elantra.

Hyundai has steadily been improving its quality and design. However, first-year cars statistically have higher problem rates. I would take this into consideration, as the 2007 Hyundai Elantra is a complete redesign. In my opinion, recent Hyundai cars are average to above average in quality.

To me, it looks too much like a corolla. It's "Bold, new lines" are just rip offs of the corolla. I own a 2005 Elantra, and to me, the best looking ones were in the 04-06 range. The new one isn't unique at all. Even the interior is a complete copy of a Toyota. But, it's still an elantra, and I do love elantras. Just not that one.

Looks like something of a new Corolla. Compact and mainstream, but it does not make a statement of its own.
