Both. People who come into the Emergency Department who are abusers get IV fluids and vitamins and thiamine and Folate called "the bannana bag" (yellow) To start to attempt to get their electrolytes back tward normal. Some people drink instead of eat those people are malnurished too.

Both! For one thing they don't eat properly or don't eat at all when they drink. Alcohol is more important to them than food. They don't realize they are harming their bodies and also their brains. However you can't convince them of this because they enjoy drinking and don't want to give it up. They are probably unhappy with their lives and think alcohol makes them happy. It has the opposite effect.
