If so, did they work well for you? What side effects did you experience? Did you have weight gain or loss?

Zoloft made me gain about 20 pounds and basically ruined my 10th grade year. It made me angry and it dulled my emotions. I'm on Wellbutrin now, and it seems to be working pretty well. I've been on it for about 4 years now and haven't had too many problems. It can cause fluctuations in weight though, like most antidepressents. I don't remember being on Cymbalta, I probably have though and didn't like it. Talk to a psychiatrist about your medication and he/she will find the right one for you.

Zoloft did nothing for me. Wellbutrin works and I've been on it for a few years. I have not been on Cymbalta. I never had side effects from either of the meds, nor did my weight change noticably.

Zoloft and wellbutrin are both anti-depressents. but Zoloft is also used for anti-psychotics as well. wellbutrin is used a lot for people with extreme lows such as crying all the time for no reason. Cymbatha I am not sure about I was never Rx'd that I lost a lot of weight form zoloft and wellbutrin

I used Zyban (which is the same drug as Wellbutrin but just a different brand name) to quit smoking. It was very effective to reduce the nicotine withdrawal symptoms and I noticed very little, if any, side effects. I tried Zoloft for depression but got so much anxiety and agitation I had to stop taking it. It also gave me diarrhea. I switched to Paxil and it worked very well with no noticeable side effects. It normalized my mood, sleep and appetite. Everyone reacts differently to these drugs so you'll just have to try one and see how it goes. If the side effects, such as weight gain/loss, get too undesirable then talk to your doctor about trying a different med.

I've been on cymbalta for a couple years now. It works pretty well. I can't really say I've had weight gain-I blame myself for any weight I've put on :) The worst side effect I've had (which is common with cymbalta) is hot flashes. Also, there's currently no generic available and it's pretty expensive.

I was put on Lexapro and gained a lot of weight. It helped with depression and anxiety. My doc. changed me over to Cymbalta and I love this medication. Everything that pissed me off is just plain funny now. I have no anxiety and just feel better in general. No weight gain on Cymbalta.

I am on 200 mg of Zoloft and 300 mg of Wellbutrin XL. I am doing well and have not experienced any weight gain from them.

I gained 20 lbs. on Cymbalta and I had just started to lose some of the weight that I'd gained from Paxil and Lexapro before I started it.

Weight gain isn't listed as a side effect and my doctor did not inform me of this. :(

I've tried both Cymbalta and Wellbutrin... both made my depression worse (although I was actually bipolar, not just depressed). So I guess it depends on you.
