This question is for Christians only..If anyone answer in a negative way, I will openly pray for you (smile)..Jesus said, "a threefold accord can hardly be broken" (threefold meaning you, I and one more person standing together in prayer)..Jesus also said, "If any two shall touch and agree on anything that they shall ask it shall be done of them of the Father which art in heaven" My question is..Do you believe if we stood together within this site to pray and agree for a non-believer or atheist to repent, that God will one day honour our prayer for the person that we are praying for?..Also do you agree that we should not become upset when they say foolish things, but silently or openly pray for them from our hearts? Do you also believe that the LORD may be sending them to this section of "yahoo answers" to receive love, and instruction from us who already know him..love and peace, lady Q aka (ordained minister)

I believe God is always watching, and we should witness to believers and nonbelievers on this discussion board. I don't think God would want us to sit back and let athesists continue to lie to all the posters on the boards. Never deny Christ. I believe that this is a wonderful place to pray for the lost. There are lost people who believe in God, but have yet to accept Him as their personal savior. I'm praying now. Let's get this chain started. Who will join?

Hi there.

I wan't raised a Christian, I came to know the faith on my own at summer camp when I was 14 [I'm almost 16 now]. I've been a Christian for a year and a half, with little support from my family--but support from a few of my friends. I strongly believe that it was God's will to save me, and no doubt prayer from my Christian friends and camp counsellor were a huge part of it.

Testimony here, sorry, but it's relevant.

Before I became a Christian, I questioned and challenged everything in authority. It wasnt just that I wasn't educated about God, it was that I didnt believe in Him at all. I had a slight understanding of the Christian faith, and then as I questioned, something inside of me changed after my grandma's cancer had recurred on the same day I started high school. I had no idea what to do, I was so lost. Something inside me made me defy my athiest roots and jump into Something that I didn't even trust yet.

So, yes. One--or more--people can lead somebody to Jesus. Through friendship with them, and through prayer for them. But, ultimately, God is in control.

I am an Atheist. Sorry about that. ;-)
Stopped believing some time ago.
but....
I think religion is good for some people, gives them a path to follow and helps guide them in their decisions.
So, as far as taking an Atheist to Christ, well, it is tough. An Atheist is usually not an uneducated person so they are not led into ideas or theories easily. They must weigh all sides of the equation and make assumptions from the things that compute.
No, I don't think you can lead and Atheist to any religion except to study it's history and origins.
As an Atheist, I am troubled by this question. I don't want to lead anyone else to be an Atheist so why would others want me to be in their faith?

Atheists are people that already found the truth about our world through science mathmatics and research. It is highly unlikly they would resort into beleiving a rather obscure and purely anecdotal scripture (No Offense to Religous People) once they find out the science behind our existance. Once you find out the truth through science there is no turning back religion seems far less convincing sadly. So you cant change their ways into religion, its not going to work. Unless you can prove the existance of Christ as God following the scientific method.

I really dont know. A quick question was that quote taken in context of the surrounding verses? Probly is but it is something important to consider. But anyway i guess if it is God's will that that person should repent and come to know him than it will be acomplished some how thats for sure. Anyway an interesting thought at the least...

Many of us feel it is you who need to be saved from your own superstitious and archaic beliefs. Christians profess to have the sole truth and lay claim to moral superiority. Many atheists follow to the letter what Jesus taught at the Sermon of the Mount, which ironically, is totally ignored by most Christians, including our marvelously 'born again' president.

you can give them the knowledge but you cant convert him. That would be forcing them to. I will openly pray for someone and I do (look at my other answers. I think it is great people ask for prayer. I don't get upset when they post oddball answers.. It make it interesting sometimes.

We can pray for them for sure..however unless it is received by them that all of a sudden they have had a change of heart (by the Holy Spirits prompting) and accepted Jesus, realized they need a saviour etc...then how can God honour what we have asked just because we have asked it? Aren't we all supposed to repent and accept for ourselves?
We can sow seeds..but then it is up to the Holy Spirit to bring life to those seeds..and yes we can pray for that.

wrenchintheworks said it best. i guess it takes a miracle to happen for an atheist to become a believer. you can't just lead anyone into believing by force, changes should be initiated by the individual.

Far more than three have tried.

One thing could convince me to become Christian--evidence.

Until I'm presented with some real, objective evidence that your god exists, I will be no more likely to be "led to Christ" than I am to be led to Zeus or Wotan.

Most atheists feel the same way--you've got your work cut out for you. We're a lot that's not easy to fool. ;)
